Help each other from the smallest things
The Women's Association for Coffee Planting in Village 3, Dak O Commune has more than 30 members - one of the professional groups established based on the needs and aspirations of the people, especially the women members. Although it is a specialized coffee growing area, the people in Village 3 mainly grow small-scale crops, and the techniques are also inclined towards "experience". Along with the establishment of the group, the Commune Women's Union also cooperated with agricultural engineers to go to the garden to advise and guide the people on coffee tree care techniques.
Excited about this joy, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh, a member of the group, shared: “Joining the group under the advice of the Women's Union, we are connected with engineers in taking care of the garden. The model of effective development, the economy of the members will certainly be better.”
As a border commune, there are many limitations in terms of geographical distance, but in recent times, thanks to the effectiveness of the Digital Education Movement and digital transformation support programs, the Dak O Commune Women's Union has accompanied its members in building brands as well as finding new business directions. Platforms such as Facebook, Zalo... are not only for entertainment, but are now being used by women to do business, especially selling typical products of the border countryside.
Ms. Le Thi Nui (residing in Dak O commune) said: “I invested in a livestream room, regularly “go live” and share with customers the steps from picking and consulting on bird’s nest products. From only selling to customers in the commune, I have now expanded the market, creating more jobs for many other members in the commune.”
“In addition to implementing emulation movements at all levels, women in Dak O commune always strive to research and apply the conveniences of digital life. From there, they build a unique image of women in the border area, which is solidarity, helping each other to improve from the smallest things.”

Taking advantage of the trend of life, the Facebook page "Digital Market - Digital Rural Area of Dak O Commune" has also been deployed by the Commune Women's Union for over 2 months. The digital market operates based on the business of all self-produced items, bearing the image and identity of the Women's Union members. From cashew nuts, pepper to vegetables, tubers, and fruits produced and sold by the commune people themselves.
Spiritual support at the border
The "Love Border Market" was established by the Dak O Commune Women's Union in 2022. As the name suggests, the profits from the market are used to raise funds and provide livelihoods for poor women and orphans. On average, the market opens once a quarter, with products such as vegetables, tubers, fruits, and fruits mainly produced by women's union members in the commune. Although these products are not difficult to buy at the market, many people choose to visit here.
Ms. Vo Thi Cam (residing in village 9, Dak O commune) said: "Every time I hear that the market is about to open, I inform and invite my neighbors to come here to support. This is a very meaningful work of the women's association members in the border area."
The market usually only lasts for an hour, and the profits are put into the fund according to regulations. According to the calculations of the Dak O Commune Women's Union, over the past 5 years, hundreds of tons of agricultural products of the commune's people have been consumed through the market. From the profits after the market, over the past 5 years, 20 means of livelihood have been given to poor members, 9 orphans in the commune have received monthly financial support in life; hundreds of gifts have been given on holidays, Tet...

“Based on the needs, we allocate funds and have appropriate forms of support. Some people we support with sugarcane juice carts, others with cows and goats. For children, we support with school expenses… Through that, we contribute to sharing love with everyone” - Ms. Vu Thi Nguyet, President of the Women's Union of Dak O commune said.
Women in remote border communes such as Dak O commune always face many difficulties due to geographical limitations. However, with the practical support of the Commune Women's Union, women have strongly developed the economy, preserved cultural identity and actively contributed to building a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
