Việt NamViệt Nam29/03/2024

(HGO) - On the morning of March 29th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the State Steering Committee for National Key Projects and Transport Sector Projects, chaired the 10th meeting of the Steering Committee. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation with local authorities. Attending the meeting from Hau Giang province were Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People 's Committee, along with leaders of various departments and agencies.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that ministries, sectors, and localities focus on action, not on setbacks.

According to the Ministry of Transport, ministries, sectors, and localities have proactively and actively coordinated the implementation of assigned tasks. Regarding land clearance, most localities have actively and decisively implemented this work, basically meeting the construction progress; however, the construction of resettlement areas and relocation of high-voltage power lines is still slow compared to requirements. For the Can Tho - Ca Mau section of the project, including the provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, and Vinh Long, 16.02 million of sand has been allocated, while the source for 2.98 million remains undetermined. Procedures have been completed, and mining operations are underway for mines with a total reserve of 9 million ; procedures are being finalized for the exploitation of another 7 million

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the ministries , sectors , localities, contractors, and construction units for their proactive and coordinated efforts in implementing assigned tasks with the spirit of "only discussing how to do it, not discussing how to retreat"; and urged investors and contractors to continue their efforts in organizing construction with determination to "overcome the sun and rain," "eat quickly , sleep urgently," work in "3 shifts and 4 teams," and work even on Saturdays and Sundays to accelerate the construction progress.

According to the Prime Minister, there are currently 34 major projects and 86 key national-level component projects in the transportation sector across 46 provinces and centrally-administered cities nationwide . Therefore , the entire local political system must be involved to effectively carry out land clearance. All levels of government must participate according to their functions, duties, and powers, with a spirit of openness and transparency; some areas will apply general policies, while others will require specific policies.

The biggest challenge for the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project remains the supply of sand for road embankment.

The Prime Minister requested that projects supported by the people be implemented quickly, decisively, and completely. According to the Prime Minister, no matter how difficult the problem, with determination and the right solutions, it can be solved. Regarding the use of sea sand, based on the results of the pilot project using sea sand as roadbed material, localities should direct investors to proactively research and expand the project to suitable areas; Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces should continue to direct relevant agencies to coordinate with investors to assign sea sand mines to contractors to carry out exploitation procedures according to the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment ...
