Urgent search for fishing boat lost contact with 8 fishermen

On September 29, the leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested urgent support to search for fishing boat BD 97258 TS that lost contact at sea.

Ship BD 97258 TS is owned and captained by Mr. Huynh Van Son (born in 1981, residing in Hoai Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai province), works as a trawler and tuna fisherman, with 8 workers on board.

Previously, at 8:13 p.m. on September 27, while operating in the sea area about 147 nautical miles southeast of Quy Nhon City, the ship's journey monitoring device suddenly lost connection, and the ship could not contact the family. At 8:45 p.m. on September 28, the family reported the incident to Tam Quan Nam Border Guard Station. To date, the ship has not had any signal.

Faced with the above situation, the leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Military Command to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Hoai Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee and the family to urgently notify and call on ships BD 96433 TS, BD 95414 TS, BD 96337 TS, BD 97397 TS and other ships in the fleet operating near the area to support the search.

According to information from the Gia Lai Province Fisheries Department on the evening of September 29, they have not yet been able to contact the ship BD 97258 TS.
