Khanh Hoa province has identified tourism as a key economic sector, one of the driving forces for double-digit economic growth (along with industry, energy, and construction/urban development) during the 2025-2030 period. The Provincial People's Committee has issued the Khanh Hoa Tourism Development Strategy for the 2026-2030 period, with a vision to 2045, aiming for Khanh Hoa to become an international marine tourism and service center by 2030, ranking among the top 5 provinces and cities nationwide in tourism development, gradually consolidating its position as a prominent destination in Southeast Asia with an easily recognizable brand and a unified tourism ecosystem. Based on this overall goal, Khanh Hoa's tourism sector aims to welcome 18.8 million visitors in 2026, including 6.3 million international visitors and 12.5 million domestic visitors; striving to achieve revenue of approximately 77,000 billion VND.

According to the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with strong growth momentum, in the first five months of 2026, Khanh Hoa province welcomed approximately 9.2 million visitors (including 4.4 million overnight visitors), an increase of 52.93% compared to the same period; international visitors are estimated at over 3.8 million, an increase of 65.99% compared to the same period. Tourism revenue is estimated at 33,893 billion VND, an increase of 32.95%.

To further promote strong and sustainable growth in Khanh Hoa tourism, in the summer of 2026, the province and the Khanh Hoa tourism industry will organize many large-scale cultural, artistic, and sporting events to help attract tourists to the land of agarwood. The first event was the Asia-Pacific Superbike Festival (Castrol Superbike Fest 2026), which has already attracted the attention of domestic and international tourists; many more major events are coming soon.

Highlights of the Cham cultural festival

In June, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized the 6th Cham Ethnic Culture Festival with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the new era". The festival involved participation from localities including Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang, Tay Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together approximately 700 Cham artisans, performers, and amateur athletes. The main events included the opening ceremony on the evening of June 26th and the closing ceremony on the evening of June 28th at the April 16th Square (Dong Hai ward). In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, the festival also featured many activities such as: performances and presentations of excerpts from traditional Cham festivals and cultural rituals; exhibitions and promotion of traditional Cham culture; demonstrations and presentations of traditional crafts; a folk art festival; and a Cham ethnic costume show. Sports competitions and folk games including football, volleyball, stick pushing, tug-of-war, and women's water team; exhibitions and introductions of tourism products, OCOP products, and unique products of Khanh Hoa province...

Also in June, Khanh Hoa was buzzing with activity as the Sea Star Nha Trang Bay 2026 International Swimming Competition took place on June 27th and 28th, attracting approximately 1,500 athletes from many countries around the world. Amidst the crystal-clear blue waters of Nha Trang Bay, each athlete embarked on their own unique journey, but all shared a common spirit of sportsmanship and a love for the sea.

To the colors of the ocean

In July, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province will organize the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 with the theme "Colors of the Ocean - Reaching International Heights". The main events include: the Opening Ceremony (night of July 17th); a parade of decorated tourist floats with the theme "Nha Trang Sea Flowers 2026" on the afternoon of July 18th; the Finals of the Vietnam Supermodel and Mr. Vietnam 2026 competition, combined with a fashion and music show "Runway to the World" on the evening of July 18th; and the Closing Ceremony and the International Music Festival connecting five continents - Unite the Continents - with the theme "Khanh Hoa's Embrace of Friends from Five Continents" on the evening of July 19th.

In addition to the main activities mentioned above, in response to the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, businesses, localities, and units will also organize colorful cultural, culinary, commercial, and sporting activities such as: Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest Culture and Culinary Festival; Vietnamese Ao Dai Festival; Khanh Hoa Agricultural Products and OCOP Products Week, and Khanh Hoa's Specialty Products 2026; "Delicious Taste of the Coastal City - Summer Melodies" Trade and Cultural Culinary Fair; street art performances; Lam Son Fruit Festival - Khanh Hoa 2026; Art photography exhibition with the theme "Colorful Culture and Tourism of Khanh Hoa 2026"; Khanh Hoa Sailing Race 2026; Nha Trang City Trail Race 1st Edition 2026; Anara Binh Tien Championship Golf Tournament - Khanh Hoa 2026….

World's beauty meeting point

In August, Khanh Hoa will have many vibrant cultural, artistic, and sporting activities. A highlight is the VnExpress Marathon Nha Trang 2026, scheduled for August 9th, with the participation of approximately 12,000 athletes from Vietnam and abroad. The stunning coastal running route in Nha Trang will provide unforgettable experiences for runners and spectators alike.

Specifically, in mid-August, Sen Vang Advertising, Trade and Training Company Limited will bring the 73rd Miss World 2026 competition to Khanh Hoa. The main events in Khanh Hoa include the "Talent Audition," "Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest," and "Head to Head Challenge." The Organizing Committee will arrange filming for contestants at cultural and tourist locations in Khanh Hoa. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is working with the Miss World Organizing Committee to select Nha Trang as the venue for the final in September. With a long history spanning 72 editions held in many countries around the world, Miss World is one of the oldest, most prestigious, and globally influential beauty pageants, contributing significantly to promoting the image of the people, culture, and tourism potential of the locality to a large domestic and international audience.

Besides the major events mentioned above, during this year's summer tourist season, tourist areas and attractions in the province such as VinWonders Nha Trang, the Opera House, CaraWorld Cam Ranh, etc., regularly organize entertainment activities to serve tourists.

Khanh Hoa enters the summer of 2026 with renewed vitality and aspirations, carrying within it the passionate waves and vibrant colors of the blue ocean. From unique cultural festivals and exciting international sporting events to world-class beauty pageants, Khanh Hoa will become a major stage for the nation and the international community this summer.
