Khanh Hoa launches a campaign to encourage people to speak English.

GD&TĐ - The "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" program was launched to improve foreign language skills, serving tourism and integration.

On the evening of May 24th, at April 16th Square (Dong Hai Ward), the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province organized the launching ceremony of the "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" program in the southern region of the province.

Attending the program were the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for the Khanh Hoa People Speaking English Program, Nguyen Thanh Ha, along with representatives from various departments, agencies, and localities, and a large number of citizens, students, and university students.

At the launch ceremony, delegates watched a documentary highlighting the program's outstanding achievements over the past period.

Accordingly, the program has built and developed various English club models, implemented basic communication and specialized English courses tailored to different professional groups, and promoted communication on digital platforms and social media.

To date, over 82,000 people have accessed specialized English learning content through the program's online platform; hundreds of thousands of students and citizens have participated in English competitions and exchange activities, contributing to improving foreign language skills in the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha emphasized that Khanh Hoa is experiencing strong development in tourism and marine economy , welcoming more than 5 million international visitors each year.

In the context of deep integration, improving English proficiency among the population plays a crucial role in socio-economic development and enhancing the competitiveness of localities.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and localities continue to promote awareness of the role of English in the digital transformation era, maintain the effectiveness of English clubs in agencies, schools, and residential areas, and leverage the role of teachers, volunteers, and social organizations in supporting the community in learning foreign languages.

At the launch ceremony of the "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" program, the program's Steering Committee introduced 66 clubs and awarded prizes to outstanding participants in the competitions.
