Inauguration of nearly 1,900 billion VND hospital in Hoc Mon

On the morning of April 19, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City held the inauguration ceremony of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital. This is one of many key works and projects of the city to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the event were comrades: Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, along with leaders of departments, branches and representatives of hospitals in the city.

At the ceremony, comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee acknowledged and commended the outstanding efforts of the Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works (HCMC Project Management Board) and related units.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee shared: "In the atmosphere of the whole country joyfully celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, the City's Department of Public Works and Infrastructure put the Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital into use early, not only to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of people in Hoc Mon district, but also to help people in neighboring areas such as District 12, Go Vap, Long An, Tay Ninh... have a spacious and convenient place to examine and treat their illnesses. This is also an opportunity for the hospital to continue to grow, develop, and improve the quality of its human resources."

Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy suggested that Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital continue to proactively and actively develop plans for training and developing human resources to meet new environmental conditions; take advantage of the comprehensive cooperation and support of end-line hospitals to develop protocols, processes, and specialized techniques in medical examination and treatment for the people; and elevate the position of a gateway hospital to soon become a complete general hospital.

"The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health must continuously monitor, urge and organize training courses to improve the quality of human resources of the three gateway hospitals in general and Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital in particular. The City's Department of Health must urgently deploy investment in equipment, ensuring that construction and installation components are connected and integrated with the modern and advanced medical equipment system, avoiding waste due to waiting between construction and installation items and purchasing specialized medical equipment," emphasized Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.

The project to build a new Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital started construction in early 2021, with a scale of 2 basements and 12 floors above ground, a total construction floor area of ​​over 72,000m2 , a total investment of over 1,895 billion VND, and a scale of 1,000 beds.

From now until the end of the year, the City Medical Equipment and Supplies Board will strive to complete the bidding for medical equipment and supplies to ensure smooth medical examination and treatment at the hospital.

Dr. Dang Quoc Quan, Director of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital, said that the hospital is 18 years old, with degraded facilities and infrastructure, and outdated equipment...

Now, that story has gone into the past when a new, spacious, modern hospital exists, meeting the wishes and expectations of the medical staff and patients.

The hospital will continuously improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, improve the medical ethics of the medical staff and workers, especially the code of conduct - civilized office, aiming at the satisfaction of patients and their relatives.
