Inauguration of the Memorial House of the Women's Liberation Union of Zone V

DNO - On the morning of October 7, at the Zone V Party Committee Base Relic Site, Phuoc Tra Commune, the Liaison Committee of the Zone V Liberation Women's Union held an inauguration ceremony for the Memorial House of the Zone V Liberation Women's Union.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang; Head of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee Le Thi My Hanh; Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thi Thuy Dung, along with former leaders of the former Quang Nam province and revolutionary veterans who fought in the Zone V Party Committee.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Nguyen Van Quang sent a congratulatory flower basket.

The Women's Liberation Union of Zone V was established in March 1961. During the resistance war against the US, under the leadership of the Zone 5 Party Committee, the union played a good role in gathering women from the provinces of Zone V to unite on the national liberation front and unify the country; organizing and building women's liberation unions in all three regions: revolutionary bases, the plains, and in enemy areas.

Well performed the tasks of political struggle, military mobilization, participated in armed struggle, and competed in production to serve the front line. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Zone V had more than 17,000 female martyrs, more than 12,400 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and nearly 50 female heroes of the People's Armed Forces.

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate

From 2023, the Liaison Committee of the Women's Liberation Union of Zone V will build a memorial stele house at the Zone V Party Committee Base Relic Site in Phuoc Tra Commune. The project started construction on May 16, 2025 on a total area of ^​​260m2 , with a total cost of about 1.6 billion VND.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang emphasized that during the resistance war against the US to save the country, the army and people of Zone V steadfastly clung to their land and villages, maintaining the revolutionary movement. Among them, women of Zone 5 are shining symbols of courage, sacrifice and indomitable spirit; they are loyal and courageous mothers and sisters, who both hid cadres, acted as liaisons and directly fought.

"The memorial stele of the Women's Liberation Union of Zone V is a symbol of patriotism, steadfastness and indomitable will of generations of women of Zone V. Those who have contributed to weaving golden pages of history with blood and tears for the Fatherland and homeland," Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang emphasized.

On this occasion, the Liaison Committee of the Women's Union of Liberation Zone V presented 10 gifts to the policy families of Phuoc Tra commune. These gifts contain deep gratitude and comradely affection to those who sacrificed and contributed to the cause of fighting to protect the Fatherland.
