Da Nang considers investment proposal of more than 31,000 billion VND from Vietnam Rubber Industry Group

DNO - The Vietnam Rubber Industry Group has proposed investing in a series of renewable energy, industrial park and high-tech agricultural projects with a total estimated capital of about VND31,721 billion in Da Nang city.

On the morning of October 9, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An chaired a meeting and worked with leaders of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group. Also attending were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung and representatives of relevant departments, branches and localities.

At the meeting, the representative of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group said that currently, the group is investing in many industries and fields such as: planting, caring, exploiting and processing rubber latex, exploiting rubber wood, manufacturing products from rubber wood; investing in construction and trading of industrial park infrastructure on converted rubber land; rubber industrial products; developing high-tech agriculture , large-scale agriculture on converted rubber land; clean energy, renewable energy.

In Da Nang city, the group has 3 member units, 2 rubber companies and 1 hydropower company. These units not only contribute positively to economic growth but also create jobs, increase income for workers, and at the same time effectively implement social security programs, contributing to improving people's lives.

Vietnam Rubber Industry Group proposed the city to allow the group to research, survey, and propose to add to the city's planning industrial park projects on rubber land with a scale of about 900 hectares , total investment capital of 6,000 billion VND ; implement high-tech agricultural projects on land funds in line with the development orientation of Da Nang .

At the same time, it is proposed to invest in the Song Con Reservoir Solar Power Plant (capacity of 30 MW, capital of 480 billion VND); Hoa Bac Hydropower Plant (capacity of 41 MW, capital of 1,341 billion VND); Da Nang Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant Phase 1 (capacity of 595 MW, area of ​​787 hectares, capital of 11,900 billion VND).

In addition, the group wishes to research additional 120 MW solar power projects and 500 MW wind power projects with a total investment of VND 12,000 billion .

The Group is committed to focusing necessary resources to successfully implement projects, contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of the city in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung requested the group to continue to proactively coordinate closely with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review the entire existing land area; classify effective rubber growing land area that needs to be retained and ineffective land to consider changing the purpose of use.

For ineffective rubber growing land, it is necessary to divide into two groups: The group handed over to the city for management, especially land funds serving civil works and essential infrastructure; the remaining group, specifically identifying the proposed conversion area and conversion purpose, clearly classifying each type of land so that the City People's Committee has a basis to review and adjust the planning accordingly.

City leaders affirmed their support for the group's development orientations, but the group needs to evaluate comprehensively and cautiously, especially for projects related to hydropower, to ensure efficiency, sustainability and consistency with the city's general development orientation.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An highly appreciated the ideas and proposals from the group, especially in the context of Da Nang city orienting towards developing a green and sustainable energy industry.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that there should be a systematic and scientific approach. In the immediate future, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the land fund managed by the two Quang Nam Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. and Nam Giang - Quang Nam Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.

On that basis, clearly identify which land areas continue to be suitable for growing rubber to ensure effective land use; which areas need to be converted to other more suitable crops.

The Group needs to proactively coordinate closely with relevant departments and branches to implement the next steps. Work contents that meet the requirements should be implemented early but must ensure proper implementation of processes, procedures and strict compliance with legal regulations.

The two sides need to work together to build a specific implementation roadmap, with a clear timeline and clearly define the responsibilities of each party, because this is not only for the benefit of the business but also aims at the goal of sustainable socio-economic development and improving people's lives.

The city hopes that the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group will continue to accompany and make more practical contributions to the development of Da Nang in the coming time.
