Groundbreaking ceremony for the first resettlement project to serve the North-South high-speed railway project

On August 19, nationwide, groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 250 projects took place simultaneously at 80 locations to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

In Ninh Binh , Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of ministries, branches and localities attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the resettlement area construction project in Dong Van ward to serve the site clearance for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis.

This is the first resettlement project to be started to serve the North-South high-speed railway project. The project has a total investment of nearly 10 billion VND to build a traffic system and technical infrastructure (water supply, drainage, communication, power supply, lighting) on an area of about 1.17 hectares.

In Bac Ninh , Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the inauguration ceremony of the Hanoi Law University 2 project with a total investment of nearly 1,800 billion VND, in Dong Nguyen ward, Bac Ninh province on an area of about 28 hectares, meeting the training needs of 10,800 students, expected to bring students to study from the 2025-2026 school year to provide high-quality legal human resources for society.

The Ministry of Construction said that on August 19, the country held inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for 250 projects in 34 provinces and cities. Of these, 161 projects were started; 89 projects were inaugurated. The total investment of the projects was VND1,280,000 billion.

Regarding expressways, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the whole country has completed 455km, bringing the total length of expressways put into operation to about 2,476km; it is expected that from now until the end of the year, we will strive to complete about 700km more, aiming for 3,000km by the end of 2025 and 5,000km by 2030.

Regarding the coastal road system, 1,397km have been put into operation, 633km are under construction, and the target of 2,838km of coastal roads is gradually being completed. On August 19, 6 expressway projects with a total length of 364km were started and many other road projects were upgraded and expanded; especially the expressway from Ca Mau to Dat Mui was started, which is the last piece on the North-South axis...

Regarding maritime and inland waterways, with more than 3,260km of coastline and a dense river network, many key projects have been deployed such as Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, Lach Huyen, Hau River channel, Cho Gao canal, promoting investment in Can Gio and Nam Do Son ports, etc., contributing to logistics development and cost reduction. The groundbreaking of Hon Khoai and Bai Goc ports on August 19 is a strategic step, serving economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW on the strategy for marine economic development.

Regarding railways, two urban railway projects, Cat Linh - Ha Dong, Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien and Nhon - Kim Ma, have been put into operation, gradually modernizing the urban area. On August 19, the groundbreaking ceremony of the resettlement area projects serving the North - South and Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong high-speed railway projects was held. These are extremely important projects, creating a premise for the high-speed railway projects to be implemented on schedule.

Regarding aviation, the completion of many key aviation projects such as the expansion of Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai ports... and especially Long Thanh International Airport is being implemented and will be basically completed in 2025; on August 19, construction of Gia Binh port (level 4E), Cat Bi Terminal T2, and the expansion of Ca Mau port will continue to commence...

On August 19, the Ministry of Education and Training started 8 projects in the field of education and training, including: Thanh Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project (Tuyen Quang); Phuc Hoa Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project (Cao Bang); Tay Giang Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project (Da Nang); Khuat Xa Ethnic Boarding School Project (Lang Son); Hoanh Mo Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project (Quang Ninh); Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Training and Research Facility Project in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa); Lecture Hall Block 2C Project - Long Binh Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (Dong Nai); Multi-purpose Experimental House - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Hanoi).
