Following President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "Competition is patriotism, and patriotism requires competition," the Provincial Federation of Labor (LĐLĐ) has launched widespread patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" movement. This has created momentum and contributed to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks and socio-economic development.

Annually, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union develops and implements a plan to launch patriotic emulation movements among union members, workers, and employees. Based on this, the various levels of the labor union concretize, develop, and implement plans to launch emulation movements according to each sector, industry, profession, and task of each agency, unit, and enterprise. As a result, many projects and initiatives have been applied in practice, positively impacting labor productivity, contributing to increased revenue for enterprises and income for workers, and improving working conditions. A notable example is the initiative "Technique for constructing retaining walls to limit landslides, applied in pipe repair" by union member Nguyen Van Nhung - Phan Ri Cua Waterworks under the Tuy Phong Public Works Management Board.
Mr. Nhung shared: Water is supplied from the Tuy Phong Water Plant (Phong Phu commune) to the southern part of the district. Due to the strong water pressure and many objective reasons, pipe leaks occur frequently, causing significant water loss, increasing repair costs, and affecting the people's water usage. In addition, the water supply system is not uniformly invested in, with some pipe sections located more than 3 meters below the road surface. Some areas have sandy soil, while others have a high groundwater level with fine mud, making excavation for pipe leaks difficult and causing landslides, hindering repair efforts. Through the application of his initiative, he has successfully solved the technical problems of pipe repair that have plagued the area for many years, reducing the amount of excavated soil, shortening repair time, and lowering labor costs, thus contributing to cost reduction for the unit.
Meanwhile, the initiative "Enhancing literary appreciation skills for gifted 4th-grade students" by teacher Huynh Thi Minh Loc from Hoa Thanh Primary School (Ham Thuan Bac district) has helped students gain confidence and acquire knowledge even during online learning due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Creating a creative environment
With the development of the market economy , agencies, units, and businesses need to pay more attention to organizing and building creative labor emulation movements and technical improvement movements, recognizing that "standing still means falling behind." Over the past 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW of the Politburo (11th term) on promoting the implementation of Resolution 20-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Party (10th term) on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of accelerated industrialization and modernization of the country," the entire province has seen more than 12,000 initiatives, techniques, and scientific research projects among workers and employees. Of these, 715 initiatives registered to participate in the "75,000 initiatives to overcome difficulties and develop" program, and more than 3,300 initiatives participated in the "1 initiative – striving to overcome difficulties, innovating, and determined to win against the Covid-19 pandemic" program. Twenty-four individuals were awarded certificates of creative labor by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their innovative solutions…
This demonstrates that the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement has unleashed the potential and intelligence of workers, creating a combined strength for the stability and development of businesses, agencies, and units. It motivates cadres, employees, and workers to compete in labor, production, and creativity in their work, and to successfully complete assigned tasks.
According to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union, in order to further improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation movements in general and the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement in particular, in the coming time, all levels of trade unions in the province will continue to focus on innovating the methods of directing and organizing emulation movements with the motto of focusing on the grassroots. The content of the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement will be closely linked with other emulation movements launched by various sectors and localities. At the same time, efforts will be intensified to promote and replicate exemplary role models, serving as catalysts to further develop the movement.
