On the morning of April 23rd, in Hanoi, the National Political Publishing House, in collaboration with the Academy of Journalism and Communication, organized a seminar titled "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 - The Power of Will and Belief in Victory," with the participation of many historical witnesses, attracting the attention of a large number of students, staff, and lecturers.

This event is part of a series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), contributing to the awakening and spreading of patriotism, nurturing ideals, the will to strive for success, and promoting the role and responsibility of today's young generation. It is also an opportunity to introduce readers to the heartfelt and valuable publications of the National Political Publishing House about the historic victory of the nation half a century ago.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Director of the National Political Publishing House Nguyen Thai Binh emphasized that, contributing to the nationwide joy at this time, the National Political Publishing House, in addition to organizing and coordinating a series of seminar events, has also published and introduced many valuable books to serve readers nationwide. These activities aim to disseminate information and help readers, especially the younger generation, better understand the important historical events of the country, while simultaneously spreading the spirit of love for books, building a reading movement, developing a reading culture, and building a learning society.

Associate Professor Dr. Luu Van Quang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, emphasized that in any era, correctly understanding, appreciating, and continuing the great historical values ​​of the nation is always a solid foundation for each individual's growth, for each generation to have a spiritual anchor, thereby nurturing aspirations to strive, contribute, and serve the country. In today's context, as the country enters a new era with many opportunities but also full of challenges, the lessons from history, from the heroic sacrifices of previous generations, are even more meaningful.

At the seminar "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 - The Power of Will and Belief in Victory," speakers who were generals and soldiers who had faced life and death, participated directly on the battlefield, and contributed to the great victory of Spring 1975, exchanged and shared their thoughts on the enduring value of this historic victory.

Historical witnesses such as Major General, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Tai, former Deputy Director of the Political Academy, Ministry of National Defense; Doctor Dam Duy Thien, former reconnaissance officer of Regiment 266, Division 341 - Song Lam; Major General Nguyen Cong Son, former Deputy Chief of the Office of the Central Military Commission; Colonel Le Hat, former Head of the Local Military Science Department, National Defense Academy; Colonel Nguyen Duc Nghinh, veteran of Division 341, along with delegates and students, recalled the events of the fierce and arduous battles during the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising.

On this occasion, the National Political Publishing House presented Dr. Dam Duy Thien – a remarkable figure who emerged from the pages of a book – and representatives of the leadership of the Academy of Journalism and Communication with the book “Family, Friends and Country,” signed by former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh. The organizing committee also presented students with the book “Ho Chi Minh City: The Zero Hour – Reports on the End of the 30-Year War.”
