On the occasion of the 1,057th anniversary of King Dinh Tien Hoang's coronation, Binh Hanh Dan Company Limited (BHD) announced the martial arts, psychological, and emotional film project "Ho linh trang si - Bi am mo vac dinh" - a heroic and tragic epic, imbued with national spirit, from the folk legend about the first Emperor who laid the foundation for an independent Vietnam after more than 1,000 years of Chinese domination.
The film tells the story of 7 heroes with extraordinary strength and indomitable spirit. It is a story about family love, teacher-student love, the flame of love between couples, loyalty to the king and above all, the aspiration to protect the national territory.
“Guardian of the brave men - The mystery of King Dinh’s tomb” opens a dramatic and emotional story. After King Dinh Tien Hoang passed away, 7 brave men were entrusted with a top secret mission: Race against time, confront hostile forces, take the king’s 100 coffins in 7 different directions, deceive the enemy who is planning to destroy the tomb - the place believed to be the source of prosperity of the nation. Is there anything hidden in those coffins? What was their journey like?
The film crew gathered many excellent directors, artists, and musicians. Photo: BHD
Leading this project is director Nguyen Phan Quang Binh - who is known for famous works such as "Dance of the Stork", "Endless Field", "Quyen", "Secrets of the Wind". In addition, he is also the producer of the films "Ao Lua Ha Dong", "Tam Cam: The Untold Story"...
Director Nguyen Phan Quang Binh shared that this is a project he has cherished for 10 years, when he accidentally heard about the legend from a ferryman in Ninh Binh . For him, the decision to choose to make a film about a historical theme is like returning to his roots.
The action part of the film is directed by actor Johnny Tri Nguyen. He is famous for his acting roles in the films “Dong mau anh hung” (Heroic Bloodline), “Bay rong” (Dragon Trap) and has made impressive appearances in Hollywood films such as “Cradle 2 the Grave” or “Da 5 Bloods”. With this new film, Johnny Tri Nguyen shared: “I don’t want to repeat myself with any film, the action must be really new. However, this is also a challenge for a historical film and I want the audience to have an impression after watching the film”.
In particular, the visual part of “Ho linh trang si – Bi am to moc vuong Dinh” was taken care of by Nguyen K'Linh. He is the one who created beautiful frames in the movies “I see yellow flowers on green grass”, “Tro tan luc” or the movie that is currently dominating the box office - “Tunnel: Mat troi trong nang duong”. The music part of the movie was taken care of by musician Quoc Trung.
To create a realistic and attractive film, BHD invited ancient costume consulting groups for the film crew such as Dai Viet Co Phong, Kinh Bac Legacy, Toc Xanh Vat Ao, Chieu Minh Cac, Great Vietnam...
“Guardian Spirit - Mystery of King Dinh's Tomb” is a tribute to King Dinh Tien Hoang and the unknown soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect this sacred land.
