With the theme: "Let books help children's dreams take flight," nearly 600 students from Tan Giang Primary School ( Ha Tinh City) had unforgettable moments from the engaging programs and activities of the reading festival.

Bui Hoang Khanh Linh (class 4B) said: “What I like most is the storytelling activity based on books. Through the stories told by my classmates and younger students, the stories on each page are brought to life. Most importantly, from each story, we reflect and draw our own lessons, understanding what is right and wrong. This is also what makes books so appealing, becoming our friends and teachers.”
To inspire and spread a love of books and reading culture in schools, Tan Giang Primary School has regularly organized many practical and meaningful activities such as: a program of one good book or one beautiful story per week held during the flag-raising ceremony; 15-minute morning activities, etc. In particular, the school has focused on building a library space and investing in thousands of books in various fields to actively support learning and expand students' knowledge.

“Currently, Tan Giang Primary School has about 7,000 books of various kinds. Thanks to the support of delegates, parents, and students through this book fair, the library will be supplemented with an additional 1,000 new books. Even more encouraging is that the school will soon move to a new, more spacious location. There, we have reserved the most beautiful and largest space for the library to facilitate book display and welcome students to read,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Principal of Tan Giang Primary School.
Leading up to Vietnam's National Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025, many schools in Huong Khe district have been spreading and inspiring a love of reading among students through meaningful activities. These include organizing reading festivals with the participation of parents, local authorities, and border guards. This beneficial event not only fosters a reading culture in schools but also contributes to enriching the book collection in school libraries. Along with organizing Book Day, many schools have also effectively maintained activities promoting reading, highlighting the value of books, and spreading the reading movement among students.

Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Hoan, a librarian at Huong Tra Secondary School (Huong Khe), shared: “To maintain the reading movement for nearly 550 students, at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the school invested in building and putting into use a green library with a spacious 200m² area to create a reading space for students during each school day. In addition to exchanging books with other schools in the area to refresh our book collection, we have also organized reading activities at the 'House of Wisdom' in Dong Tra village to spread the reading culture and contribute to building a better learning environment.”
With the theme "Together with books, we enter the era of national progress," these days, schools in Can Loc district are also bustling with extracurricular activities for students.

At Thanh Loc Primary School (Can Loc), in addition to organizing library reading sessions, the school also regularly organizes activities to encourage students' passion for reading, such as storytelling competitions based on books, introducing their favorite books, etc. In particular, the mobile library program has helped students find many good books suitable for their age.
Nguyen Thu Ha (class 5C) shared: “Our teachers often remind us to read diligently to learn more and enrich our language skills. Therefore, reading has become a common and regular activity for us every day at school. Especially during the first 15 minutes of class, during recess, and after lunch. In addition, I can borrow books to read at home. From the pages of books, I learn about many places I haven't had the chance to visit. Books also help us relieve stress after school, enhance our knowledge, and develop life skills.”

The messages "Reading culture – connecting communities," "Together with books, we enter an era of national progress," and "Reading books – enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity"... are being actively and simultaneously implemented by educational institutions in Ha Tinh province through many practical activities. This helps students cultivate reading habits, enhance their academic knowledge, and develop life skills.
To contribute to organizing the Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day in a meaningful, effective, coordinated, and widespread manner, the education sector has issued a plan and directed educational institutions to widely disseminate information in schools; organized activities to celebrate Book Day with practical initiatives such as: fundraising for building book collections and libraries; launching campaigns to donate books to support disadvantaged units; encouraging parents to participate and support the movement to build classroom book collections...
To date, educational institutions in the area have strictly implemented the directives of the education sector, contributing to maintaining and spreading a reading culture and developing life skills for students in line with educational reform.
