In recent times, with the attention and leadership of the Party and the State, the drastic direction and management of the Government ; ministries, branches and localities have focused on mobilizing all resources to invest in the comprehensive development of the Khmer ethnic minority region. The focus is on solving difficult and urgent problems in production and life of the ethnic minority, especially poor and near-poor households, such as: supporting residential land, housing, production land, domestic water; arranging and stabilizing the population; supporting preferential credit loans, job conversion; settling down associated with ensuring social security, gratitude... thanks to that, poor households have decreased every year; the material and spiritual life of the Khmer ethnic minority has continuously improved in a comprehensive direction.

Implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU, dated October 8, 2021 "on continuing to comprehensively develop the Khmer ethnic minority region in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030", which identifies the goals: focusing on economic development, sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction, improving living standards for the Khmer people. Focus on striving to build Tra Vinh province to meet new rural standards before 2025. Narrow the gap in living standards between regions; gradually reduce and strive to have no more particularly difficult areas, improve the lives of people in ethnic minority regions, and reduce the poverty rate sharply. At the same time, improve the efficiency and quality of education and training; effectively implement health care; preserve and promote the values ​​and traditional cultural identities of the ethnic minorities. Effectively resolve the policy of gratitude and implement social justice. Continue to maintain national defense and security combined with socio-economic development, resolutely fight to prevent and neutralize the plots and tricks of sabotage activities of hostile forces. Build a clean and strong grassroots political system in the Khmer ethnic minority area. Thanks to policies, programs and projects, the socio-economic infrastructure of the Khmer ethnic minority area has been invested in and developed, increasingly meeting the production and living needs of the people.

As the socio -economy has many positive changes, the rural appearance is increasingly renewed, the material and spiritual life of the Khmer people is increasingly improved, and the average income per capita is increasing.

Mr. Tran Sa Rang, residing in Kim Son commune, Tra Cu district, said that in the past, Khmer people still faced many difficulties in economic support policies and legal knowledge, but thanks to the propaganda and implementation of policies of the Party and State by authorities at all levels and the police force, people were able to borrow capital and develop the economy, thereby stabilizing people's lives, the security and order situation in the locality was also stable, Khmer people are now excited about the changes in their homeland, the lives of every household and every Khmer person are also constantly improving, all thanks to the attention of the Party, the State and all levels and sectors.

The lives of Khmer people in the province have changed significantly. Departments, branches and organizations have paid attention to effectively implementing the transformation of production structure, converting crops and livestock to suit local conditions and climate change; promoting the application of science and technology; focusing on timely and effective implementation of national target programs, creating conditions for sustainable socio-economic development; replicating effective production models, creating high-value products with brands, trademarks and geographical indications.

Promote and call for investment, create the best conditions for businesses to invest in Khmer ethnic minority areas to solve employment, change jobs, encourage workers to work abroad for a limited period of time, contributing to increasing income and improving people's living standards; promote the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the Khmer people; strengthen propaganda and mobilize Khmer people to have high awareness in the fight, prevent plots and tricks of distortion and sabotage by hostile, reactionary and opportunistic forces; at the same time, reform those with narrow-minded and extremist nationalist thoughts, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area.

Mr. Thach Sa My, a prestigious person (residing in Ba Se A hamlet, Luong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district) shared that in the past, the socio-economic life of ethnic minorities was still difficult. Therefore, the Khmer people are always grateful to the Party and the State for paying attention to implementing well the programs and policies to ensure social security, supporting all aspects to improve material and spiritual life; the life of the Khmer people is more stable than before, rural traffic infrastructure has been invested in and completed, schools are spacious, clean and beautiful, historical and revolutionary relics and cultural sites have been renovated and preserved.

For the Khmer people, pagodas are places for religious activities, places to teach ethnic languages, teach culture and are also centers for community activities. Especially on the occasions of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year and the Sene Dolta festival of the Khmer people, local Party committees and authorities organize practical and meaningful activities such as: traditional meetings, visits and congratulations to organizations of the Patriotic Monks and Monks Solidarity Association, Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagodas, dignitaries, prestigious people, typical policy families, poor households of the Khmer ethnic group...

Venerable Thach Sok Xane, Chairman of the Association of Patriotic Buddhist Monks and Monks of Tra Vinh Province, Abbot of Ang Pagoda (Ward 8, Tra Vinh City) said that the Khmer people are very happy to receive the attention and support of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and departments and branches to create favorable conditions for material and spiritual support for the Khmer people to develop their economy. Along with that, with the correct policies and guidelines, the Party and State have focused many resources to invest in economic, cultural and social development, build many traffic infrastructure works, and implement many policies for poor and disadvantaged households to have conditions to develop their family economy and improve their lives.

Khmer people have enjoyed many achievements from the implementation of the Party and State's guidelines and policies. This is the driving force for them to continue promoting their will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, dynamic and creative in labor and production, striving with all levels and sectors to successfully achieve socio-economic development goals in the locality, contributing to building a prosperous, peaceful and happy family life and together with the whole country to carry out the cause of innovation, building and defending the Fatherland.
