In November, the forest rangers of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Forest Protection Department launched many peak patrols, controlled and handled the hunting and trapping of wild birds. This is the time when the migratory bird season is strong, many subjects take advantage of this feature to spread nets, set traps, use decoy birds and sound-emitting devices to exterminate wild birds.
On November 13, the Forest Ranger Team of Hung An Commune coordinated with the Economic Department, Police, Commune Military Command and security team to conduct inspections in a number of areas showing signs of trapping.

Inspection work
Upon inspection, the authorities discovered 2 decoy birds and 1 migratory bird trapped in a trap; confiscated 6 black fishing nets, 3 sound-activating devices, 1 mini speaker, 8 loudspeakers and many electric wires. Although the violators have not been identified, the working group promptly dismantled all the tools and brought them to the commune People's Committee headquarters for further verification and handling according to regulations.
Mr. Hoang Minh Diep, a ranger of the Forest Protection Department of Region VII, said that the hunting of wild birds is becoming more complicated. Taking advantage of the migratory season, many people have used nets, set traps, and used bird sounds to attract birds, with the aim of hunting them for food or selling them for profit. This is a dangerous act, seriously reducing biodiversity and disrupting ecological balance.
In addition to inspection work, the Forest Protection Department of Region VII also promotes propaganda and mobilizes households, businesses, and forest product processors to sign a commitment to comply with the law in managing, exploiting, trading, transporting forest products, and preventing and fighting forest fires in the dry season of 2025-2026. The Forest Protection Team of Bang Hanh commune also coordinated with specialized departments to conduct field inspections and update and monitor forest developments in 2025.
Not only in Hung An, in Hoa An commune, on the evening of October 27, the Commune Police coordinated with the Local Forest Ranger Team and the Grassroots Security and Order Protection Team to patrol the field area of Quang Minh village. Here, the authorities discovered a black net about 100 meters long and 2 loudspeakers used to trap birds. Because the owner could not be identified, the authorities made a record, seized the evidence and continued to investigate to clarify.
Since October, many cases of hunting and trapping wild birds have been discovered in localities in Tuyen Quang province. This situation has directly affected the ecosystem, rapidly reducing the number of native bird species, pushing many rare species to the brink of extinction. Birds are an important link in pollination, seed dispersal, and pest control. Hunting and killing reduces the ability of forests and ecosystems to recover and maintain natural balance.
Don't let the birds "fall into the trap"
Mr. Dao Duy Tuan, Head of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Forest Protection Department, said that in order to protect wild birds and wild animals, the Department has requested regional Forest Protection Departments to closely coordinate with the authorities and functional forces to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts of illegal hunting, trading, and captivity of migratory birds and wild animals.

Units need to regularly organize raids on wild bird trading and transportation points at markets, on social networks and on traffic routes. Along with that, step up propaganda work to raise people's awareness; mobilize them to sign a commitment not to hunt or consume wild birds; bring environmental education into schools to form the habit of protecting nature from the young generation.
With the drastic participation of forest rangers and functional agencies, along with the increasing awareness of the people, Tuyen Quang is making efforts to prevent wild birds from falling into traps, contributing to the protection of biodiversity and preserving the natural beauty for future generations.
