The New Year's Day holiday, welcoming 2026, has begun on its first day. This year, the holiday lasts four days, and it is predicted that many recreational activities and electricity demand will increase significantly. At the Dispatching Room (Ha Tinh Power Company), work continues urgently and with high concentration on the first day of the new year. On the monitoring screens, load charts and grid operating parameters are continuously updated in real time. Dispatchers are on duty, meticulously analyzing power and production data, comparing them with the same period last year, and forecasting the load for each area to promptly implement appropriate adjustments.
Mr. Mai Thanh Tung, Head of the Dispatching Department, said: “Even before the New Year's holiday, we developed detailed operating procedures for each day and each hour, calculating the loads to ensure stable power supply during the holiday. The department organized 100% staff on duty in shifts and maintained a 24/7 system, closely monitoring load fluctuations and analyzing data in real time to proactively adjust operating procedures, ensuring a safe and stable power grid and preventing localized overloads.”

According to analysis, the total electricity consumption in the province during the four-day holiday reached 350-370 MW, higher than normal but lower than the peak electricity consumption month in 2025 (423 MW lower); the projected electricity output is 4.5-4.7 million kWh. Based on close monitoring of the load situation, Ha Tinh Power Company has intensified inspections and reviews of the entire power grid system; focusing on resolving all existing problems and defects that could cause incidents, ensuring the stability of the 110kV to low-voltage lines. Accordingly, flexible operating methods have been developed, proactively implementing solutions to prevent overload and balance the load appropriately, effectively meeting the electricity needs of people and businesses.

Not only at the central control center, but also at regional power management teams and affiliated units, the spirit of being on duty throughout the holiday is being seriously implemented, with 24/7 operation and repair shifts in place. At the site, power sector officials and workers are regularly inspecting the power grid, substations, and key power lines. Simultaneously, they are fully prepared with materials, equipment, vehicles, and communication systems to quickly handle any arising situations, ensuring a safe and stable power supply throughout the holiday period.
Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Team Leader of the Thanh Sen Area Power Management Team, said: “As a central area, the load increases significantly during holidays due to the increased demand for electricity for entertainment, recreation, and household use. We have proactively developed detailed operational plans, intensified grid inspections, and thoroughly addressed any existing problems or defects. During the holidays, the entire team maintained a standby system, ready to quickly handle any arising situations.”
At this time, in addition to New Year's celebrations and entertainment activities, businesses and production households are also increasing their production capacity for Tet (Lunar New Year). Ensuring a stable power supply has helped businesses and establishments maintain production with peace of mind. Mr. Nguyen Thua Dong, Director of Thang Thinh Construction and Trading Co., Ltd. (Hamlet 10, Cam Xuyen Commune), said: “We operate in the field of high-tech iron and steel production and construction. This is the peak time for delivering goods to partners, using many types of high-capacity machinery. A stable power supply has helped us maintain production without interruption. This is a very important factor for businesses to complete their production and business plans at the end of the year.”

According to Ha Tinh Power Company, in 2025, the 220kV Vung Ang Substation was successfully commissioned, providing stable electricity to the southern region. This is one of the foundations for the power sector to proactively operate the power grid smoothly and stably throughout the province. Accordingly, during the New Year holiday, the company did not carry out any power outages or reductions that would cause power disruptions for customers.

In addition to ensuring a continuous power supply, during holidays, the power companies also organize repairs and replacements of wiring after the meter; replace light bulbs with energy-saving ones; and inspect and replace some damaged electrical equipment for disadvantaged households, single-parent households, and those suffering from serious illnesses. Furthermore, they advise customers to use electricity safely and regularly inspect electrical equipment, especially in production facilities with many high-power machines, to avoid the risk of fire and explosion due to short circuits.
