The atmosphere before the inauguration of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge

(ABO) Early in the morning of August 19, preparations for the inauguration ceremony and putting into operation of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project connecting Tien Giang province and Ben Tre province (now Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces) were completed.

Traffic police were present early to regulate traffic.

This is a key project within the event of the Groundbreaking and Inauguration Ceremony of 250 projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project has a total investment of over 6,810 billion VND from the state budget. The Rach Mieu 2 main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge, with a length of over 1,971 km; a grade III plain road, with 4 lanes. The total length of the project is about 17.6 km.

The first project started construction on March 29, 2022. The project is considered a symbol of the self-reliance of the Vietnamese bridge workers.

During the implementation process, the project encountered many difficulties. However, thanks to the attention and close direction of the Party and State leaders; the close coordination of the two provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre (now Dong Thap and Vinh Long) ... the project was completed about 5 months early.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Can Manh Hung, Commander, Director of the Executive Board of Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company Trung Nam E&C shared: “After nearly 3 years of construction and sticking with the project from the beginning until now, we are very excited to have witnessed the results of our own labor as well as all of our brothers in the past nearly 3 years. It is truly a joy to join in the joy of the people of the two provinces of Ben Tre - Tien Giang (old) and now Dong Thap - Vinh Long”.
