I must say I'm lucky to have married My Le. She's 7 years younger than me, but she's understanding and knows how to treat people well. We met when she was interning at the company where I worked. My Le was petite but attracted me from the first glance because she was always full of energy and responsibility at work.

She came to Chongqing from a small village in Harbin to study because she received a scholarship. Later, she chose to stay here to live and work because she married me.

We only go home to her house together once a year during Tet or other holidays. Her parents are farmers, and besides my wife, her family also includes her two older brothers.

I could clearly sense her father's patriarchal attitude. Whenever I visited, I occasionally saw my father-in-law displaying his patriarchal nature towards my mother-in-law, my wife, and my granddaughter.
