Many advantages

Industrial Park No. 5, invested by Yen My Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company, covers an area of over 192 hectares and is located in Xuan Truc and Quang Lang communes, An Thi district, and Nghia Dan commune, Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province. The industrial park is bordered on two sides by roads connecting the Hanoi -Hai Phong and Phap Van-Cau Gie expressways, the new National Highway 38, and the district road DH62.

This is a prime location, particularly advantageous for construction, internal traffic flow, and the transportation of goods from the industrial park to important points such as Hai Phong port, Noi Bai international airport, and Huu Nghi border gate in Lang Son... The advantage in connecting domestic and international goods circulation is also a major plus point for Industrial Park No. 5 to attract investment.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan, Director of Yen My Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company, said that Industrial Park No. 5 has a total investment of VND 2,385 billion, approved by the Prime Minister in August 2021. Within just 6 months of receiving the investment certificate, the industrial park had completed land clearance.

The industrial park is divided into two zones. The first zone, covering 109 hectares, has completed its technical infrastructure. Electricity is supplied from the national grid via a 110/22 KV transformer substation with a capacity of 4 x 63 MVA (phase 1 has a capacity of 2 x 63 MVA). The water supply system has a maximum capacity of 30,000 m3/day. Wastewater is collected and classified at a treatment plant (capacity of 4,300 m3/day) according to standards before being discharged into the environment. The second zone, covering 83 hectares, has completed 70% of its technical infrastructure. Many projects by secondary investors have been started and are under construction here.

The internal transportation system, with main roads 32-42 meters wide, is complete. In addition, the investor of Industrial Park No. 5 is finalizing the last procedures for the investment in a worker and expert housing area (approximately 12 hectares) to serve the needs of experts and workers employed there.

Mr. Vu Quoc Nghi, Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks in Hung Yen province, assessed that Industrial Park No. 5 is one of the province's key projects. The industrial park focuses on attracting investment in fields such as electronics, precision mechanics; light industry, and other manufacturing and business sectors consistent with Hung Yen province's industrial development plan. The province also intends to focus on attracting semiconductor investors and businesses from Taiwan (China) to Industrial Park No. 5.

“When the factories in Industrial Park No. 5 become operational, they will create more jobs and income for local people. At the same time, the operation of the industrial park will make a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality,” Mr. Nghi said.

Investor destination

Following the commencement of construction (March 2023), Industrial Park No. 5 has welcomed numerous delegations of businesses and investors for surveys and research. In May 2024, approximately 50 enterprises belonging to the Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Association (TEEMA) visited the industrial park for a site survey.

With convenient transportation connections and numerous incentives to attract investment, Industrial Park No. 5 has so far attracted 12 projects, including 10 enterprises from Taiwan (China), with a registered capital of approximately 200 million USD. These are mainly electronics businesses and supporting manufacturers for large global corporations, aligning with Hung Yen province's investment attraction and development goals and orientations.

At the Hung Yen Provincial Planning Conference for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and Investment Promotion held in early July 2024, among the 20 FDI projects granted investment certificates by Hung Yen province, 5 projects invested in Industrial Park No. 5. These are: the RFID label manufacturing project (using radio waves to read and collect information stored on tags attached to objects) by Arizona, with an investment of 67 million USD; the Mechanical Engineering Products Manufacturing project (30 million USD); the Cable, Connector and Antenna Manufacturing project (16.5 million USD); the Connector and Electronic Components Manufacturing project (10 million USD); and the Electronic Link Manufacturing project (18.6 million USD).

As a major RFID supplier, in 2023, Arizona supplied over 3 billion RFID products of various types worldwide. For this production expansion investment, Arizona chose to build a factory in Industrial Park No. 5, with an area twice the size of its current factory in Yangzhou (China).

Speaking at the Hung Yen Provincial Planning Conference for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and Investment Promotion in Hung Yen Province, Mr. Ho, Yi Da, Chairman of Arizona Technology (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., expressed: “During the process of searching for a factory location, we surveyed more than 20 countries and territories. The advantageous geographical location of Hung Yen province, the vision of the leaders, the support for the semiconductor industry, and the practical preferential policies of Industrial Park No. 5 are the main reasons why we chose this place as our destination...”.

Previously, on May 30, 2024, Arizona held a groundbreaking ceremony to commence construction of the Arizona Technology Plant (Vietnam). The plant will manufacture high-tech products for major businesses in the US, Japan, and Europe, such as Walmart and Uniqlo. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2025, with estimated annual revenue of 22 trillion VND.

Recently, on July 13th, the Wieson Technologies Vietnam factory, with a total investment of $16.5 million, specializing in the production of electronic components such as cables and connectors, was launched in Industrial Park No. 5. Wieson Technologies Vietnam aims to produce 2.64 million internal antennas, 2.76 million external antennas; 25.2 million SMT and Spring DP connectors; and 10 million 2.1 I/M HDMI SPRING-1 connectors annually.
