On the afternoon of October 21st, Thai media outlets simultaneously reported that the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) had officially dismissed head coach Masatada Ishii. The reason given was that the Japanese strategist's working style and team management methods were incompatible with the Thai national team.

At the same time, in preparation for the FIFA training camp in November, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) is actively searching for a suitable person to fill the position of new head coach for the national team. The technical department of the Football Association of Thailand will expedite the process of reviewing and selecting the appropriate personnel.

According to Khaosod , the list of top candidates for the head coach position has been revealed. Those considered potential successors to Ishii include Anthony Hudson, Sasom Pobprasert, and the very familiar name in Thai football, Kiatisak Senamuang.

Anthony Hudson (44 years old) is an English professional soccer coach, currently serving as the Technical Director of the Football Association of England (FAT). Hudson briefly served as interim coach of the US national team in 2023.

Meanwhile, Sasom Pobprasert (58 years old) is a former player for the Thai national team and is currently the head coach of PT Prachuap FC in Thai League 1. In addition, the 58-year-old strategist is also known as a football commentator for TrueVisions and PPTV channels.

Kiatisak Senamuang (52 years old), dubbed "Thai Zico," seems to be the most prominent figure on this list. With the achievements he accomplished while leading the "War Elephants," Thai football fans are eagerly awaiting the return of this 52-year-old strategist.

Under Kiatisak, the Thai national team won two AFF Cup titles (2014, 2016). In addition, "Thai Zico" led the Thai U23 team to a gold medal at the 2013 SEA Games and reached the semi-finals of the 2014 Asian Games.
