On the afternoon of October 21, the Thai press simultaneously reported that FAT officially fired head coach Masatada Ishii. The reason was that the Japanese strategist's working style and team management methods were not suitable for the Thai team.

At the same time, in order to prepare for the FIFA training session in November, FAT is actively looking for the right person to take the new head coach position for the national team. The technical department of the Football Association of Thailand will speed up the process of reviewing and selecting suitable personnel.

Khaosod newspaper said the list of top candidates for the head coach position has been revealed. Accordingly, those who are said to be able to succeed Ishii include Anthony Hudson, Sasom Pobprasert and a very familiar name in Thai football, Kiatisak Senamuang.

Anthony Hudson (44 years old) is an English professional football coach, currently holding the position of Technical Director of FAT. Hudson was the interim coach of the US national team for a short time in 2023.

Meanwhile, Sasom Pobprasert (58 years old) is a former player of the Thai national team and is currently the head coach of PT Prachuap Club in Thai League 1. In addition, this 58-year-old strategist is also known as a football commentator for TrueVisions and PPTV channels.

“Thai Zico” Kiatisak Senamuang (52 years old) seems to be the most prominent person on this list. With the achievements he achieved when leading the “war elephants”, Thai football fans are looking forward to the return of this 52-year-old strategist.
