According to Pinkvilla , at the 6th Newsis Hallyu Expo (K-Expo 2024), Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Hye Yoon will be honored to receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award for their contributions in spreading the Korean cultural wave.
Accordingly, actor Kim Soo Hyun will be honored for his role in tvN's "Queen of Tears". The drama has set a new record for the highest viewership ratings in tvN history.
According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of "Queen of Tears" achieved an average nationwide rating of 24.850%, surpassing the previous record of 21.683% set by the drama "Crash Landing on You" in February 2020.
Meanwhile, actress Kim Hye Yoon will receive an award for her outstanding performance in the drama "Lovely Runner". In the film, Kim Hye Yoon plays Im Sol, a girl who travels through time to save her idol Ryu Sun Jae (played by Byeon Woo Seok). Kim Hye Yoon's remarkable performance is highly appreciated, contributing to the success of the film.
In addition, a series of other actors were also honored to receive awards at this event, including Go Min Si with "Sweet Home", Byun Yo Han with "Uncle Samsik", Chae Jong Hyeop with "Serendipity's Embrace " and Bona (WJSN) with "Pyramid Game".
The Korea Creative Content Agency Chairman's Award will be presented to Modhaus CEO Jeong Byeong Gi (Jaden Jeong) for his role in forming the 24-member girl group tripleS.
Notably, Big Ocean will receive the Hallyu Special Award for being Korea's first deaf boy group and having a positive impact on the community.
The 6th Newsis Hallyu Expo (2024 K-Expo) will be held at the Josun Palace Grand Hall, Yeoksam-dong, Seoul (Korea) from 3 p.m. (Korean time) on August 22.
Newsis Hallyu Expo (K-Expo) is an event that selects and honors individuals and businesses that have contributed to the dissemination and development of Korean culture throughout the year.
