In Vinh Tuong district, initially there was no flooding, but heavy rain and strong winds blew off the roofs of some schools such as Chan Hung Secondary School, Thuong Trung Primary School, Kim Xa Primary School, etc.; knocked down and uprooted some shade trees on the roads; knocked down and damaged some corn, squash, and vegetable fields in the localities, especially in the communes of Chan Hung, Dai Dong, Kim Xa, Vu Di, Van Xuan, and Bo Sao, etc.
According to the preliminary report of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) of Lap Thach district, heavy rain and strong winds on the night of April 20 knocked down about 25 hectares of corn and crops; blew off the roofs of 2 classrooms of Son Dong Kindergarten; and the entire corrugated iron roof of the office building of Van Truc Commune Health Station was blown off.
Immediately after the storms and tornadoes occurred, the authorities promptly grasped the situation in the localities. On the morning of April 21, 2024, Chairman of Lap Thach District People's Committee Hoang Long Bien and leaders of a number of relevant departments, offices and units of the district inspected the actual situation and directed units and localities to focus on repairing, overcoming, ensuring safety, meeting the primary health care needs of the people and the teaching and learning needs of local children. Particularly for the areas of crops that were damaged, the Chairman of the District People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and local authorities to review, compile specific data and propose solutions to promptly support the people.
Vinh Phuc Electricity Company fixes broken and fallen electric poles due to heavy rain and storms
In Vinh Yen city, heavy rain and storms knocked down two high-voltage power poles on Le Hong Phong street (DT.304) and a number of lighting poles and billboards on a number of routes... To ensure traffic safety and power grid safety, immediately after the heavy rain, the Department of Transport coordinated with Vinh Phuc Electricity Company and Vinh Yen City People's Committee to repair, move and replace the fallen power poles. At the same time, warnings were placed, traffic was organized and regulated; high-voltage power poles, lighting poles and billboards were bundled and reinforced at affected locations.
For trees that have fallen or tilted due to storms, especially on Nguyen Tat Thanh, Kim Ngoc, DT.309 streets..., functional units have mobilized forces and means to collect and trim trees, ensuring convenient, safe and smooth traffic. Particularly in the flooded area under the railway underpass on DT.310B street, the management unit has pumped out water. By 6:00 a.m. on April 21, this area had been cleared, ensuring normal traffic.
According to information from Vinh Phuc Power Company (PC Vinh Phuc), heavy rain and strong winds blew off the roofs of factories, broke large trees on electric poles, transformer stations and power lines,... causing widespread power grid failures in the districts and cities of Vinh Yen, Yen Lac, Vinh Tuong, Tam Dao, Lap Thach, Tam Duong.
Immediately after receiving the information, the PCTT&TKCN Command Board of PC Vinh Phuc and related departments and units were present at the scene to direct the work of overcoming the consequences caused by thunderstorms and whirlwinds; mobilized forces to coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies to clear the scene and the route corridor, ensuring safety for people.
PC Vinh Phuc has directed units to localize the incident, quickly fix it, and restore power to nearly 1,000 customers. Some incident points in the districts of Lap Thach, Tam Dao, and Yen Lac were completed overnight, restoring power to customers. For the remaining incident points, the Company and other power companies mobilized all human resources, materials and equipment to urgently fix the incident and restore power to customers as soon as possible.
