Teacher disciplined for beating student, leaving bruises on her cheek, in Dak Lak.

On the evening of December 17th, Ms. Ho Thi Tinh, Principal of the International Primary School (Tan Loi Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City), stated that the school's Disciplinary Council had just met to consider disciplinary action against teacher NMT (26 years old) for physically assaulting a 3rd-grade student. The school also decided to revoke all of Ms. NMT's performance bonuses for the 2024-2025 school year and will not consider her for a salary increase in the coming period.

"Teacher T. will have a month to challenge herself. If she doesn't change during this time, the school will terminate her employment ," the principal said. Whether intentional or unintentional, any insult to a student's honor or physical integrity will be dealt with severely by the school.

In her disciplinary report, teacher NMT admitted that on December 16th, during a lesson, she used a flexible ruler to punish a student's hand. However, the student bent down while hitting, so the ruler struck their cheek instead. Afterward, the teacher contacted the parents to apologize.

The parents of this student took a picture of their child's face with bruises and sent it to the class's group chat, requesting that the school's administration be informed and appropriate action be taken.

Previously, on October 21st, in Buon Ma Thuot City, a second-grade student at Nguyen Binh Khiem Private Primary School was beaten on the back by a teacher, resulting in bruises. Immediately afterward, the Buon Ma Thuot City Department of Education and Training investigated and clarified the incident and decided to suspend the female teacher involved for three months.
