Spread inspirational stories

Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, a Muong ethnic girl in Phu Tho, started her business with a small capital of four million VND, diligently livestreaming to sell products from the days when there were only a few viewers, taking care of her booth on the e-commerce platform. Up to now, Hoa's sour meat products have reached consumers across the country. Or like the large-strand dong vermicelli - a Dien Bien specialty, which caused a "fever" on TikTok for a long time, starting with Sung Bau, a girl born in 2002, promoting the product in clips sharing about nature and life in the highlands on her personal account.

The increasing number of entrepreneurial stories like Hoa and Bau have inspired women in the midlands and mountainous areas of the North in particular, and women across the country in general, to pursue their desire to start a business. However, the journey is still fraught with many obstacles.

Start with skills training

Digital marketing - advertising on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, running Google Ads, TikTok... is the fastest way to reduce intermediaries and reach customers from afar. Along with the benefits, this also requires many skills, from understanding the platform (policies, violations, how to create a shopping cart); to the ability to create content with beautiful images, short videos, local product stories that incorporate customer emotions; finally, the ability to analyze data, know how to read data from site administrators, know which orders convert into revenue, which ads are wasted.

Currently, many classes on social network sales are opened to meet the growing needs of the community, but the participation fee is relatively high. To help women expand their knowledge of digital business, the Women's Union of Dien Bien province has coordinated with the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council under the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry to organize a training course with the theme "Improving skills in building digital brands and Information Security for small and medium-sized enterprises owned by women", attracting the participation of more than 50 female business owners, cooperatives, women entrepreneurs, business start-ups, and female business owners. From here, the women were trained in digital branding skills, sales skills, AI applications, and information security skills from leading experts such as Mr. Hoang Khanh Duong - Strategy Director, iViet Business Development Solutions Company Limited, or Ms. Ngo Minh Trang - Director, Vietnet Information Technology - Communication Center (Vietnet-ICT).

Ms. Trang especially shared and emphasized the current situation of online fraud in Vietnam, how to identify scams and prevent them, as well as instructions on how to recognize and handle fake news on social networks. This is one of the skills that is considered especially necessary, helping female entrepreneurs protect digital assets and do business safely and sustainably in the digital age.

The Women's Union in localities has proactively coordinated with organizations and business alliances to organize digital marketing training courses for women in the midlands and mountainous areas of the North.
