Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital - formerly known as Tuyen Quang Provincial Revolutionary Hospital, was established on August 22, 1945. Up to now, the hospital has been recognized by the Ministry of Health as a Grade I hospital, with nearly 800 staff and employees.

With the orientation of becoming a high-tech center of the mountainous province, the hospital has invested heavily in modern equipment; a new generation digestive endoscopy system with the function of magnifying and staining to diagnose early digestive tract cancer; an automatic testing machine that meets national standards; an endoscopic surgery system; a laser lithotripsy machine; a Phaco surgery machine... Many specialized techniques that are only performed at the central level have now been deployed at the hospital.

In order for people to have access to modern medical services, meeting the health care needs of the people, Tuyen Quang province has started the project to build a provincial general hospital at a new location with a total area of nearly 14 hectares; total investment of nearly 1,800 billion VND, with a scale of 1,000 beds, expected to put into operation phase 1 in 2026.

With the results achieved, in 2003, the Provincial General Hospital was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President. In 2012, it was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal. For many consecutive years, it has been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister, along with many Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health and the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province.
