On August 17, the Office of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee announced that it had just issued a notice of conclusion after a working session with departments and branches on the development of digital infrastructure, transportation, tourism, urban landscape construction, and cultural environment of central wards. Accordingly, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, recognized that the locality is lacking a "conductor" to direct and inspire socio -economic development for each region.
In addition to the leaders of departments and branches, the meeting also included leaders of the central wards of the province such as: Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Xuan Truong - Da Lat, Lang Biang - Da Lat; Ham Thang, Binh Thuan , Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, Phu Thuy, Tien Thanh (belonging to the old Binh Thuan); Bac Gia Nghia, Nam Gia Nghia and Dong Gia Nghia (belonging to the old Dak Nong).
Previously, on August 1, at a meeting with press agencies and reporters stationed in the province, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee compared the new Lam Dong province to 3 regions: Lam Dong of blue sea (old Binh Thuan), Lam Dong of thousands of flowers (old Lam Dong) and Lam Dong of great forests (old Dak Nong).
Lam Dong province leaders commented that after more than 1 month of merger, there is still a lack of a "conductor" in each region to command, inspire, orient, and create ideas towards unity in the way all socio-economic activities are operated.
Therefore, Lam Dong province is facing many challenges such as some key projects are behind schedule due to land clearance, lack of capital, or unsynchronized planning; the development of digital government and smart tourism is still in the initial stages.
In terms of tourism, although it is a strong point, tourism products are not diverse and of low quality; tourism areas and spots are not large in scale, and have not attracted investors in multi-functional projects. On the other hand, the business situation of serving tourists in some public areas has not been well managed, affecting the tourism image of the province.
Urban order in some central areas has not been strictly controlled; parks and public areas have not been effectively exploited.
According to the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the central wards not only play the role of the main hub in providing public administrative services to people and businesses in the area, but this area also possesses many outstanding potentials for socio-economic development, being the "economic locomotive" leading the other "train cars" in the province.
Therefore, Lam Dong provincial leaders requested the Department of Construction to continue guiding the above localities to complete the zoning and detailed planning in the wards. Prioritize the development of public spaces, green infrastructure, urban tourism spaces, ensuring consistency and suitability with local characteristics.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall coordinate with the wards: Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Xuan Truong - Da Lat, Lang Biang - Da Lat to develop a specific plan to continue promoting and preserving the title of UNESCO creative city of music in accordance with the situation of the two-level local government apparatus and the locality's commitments to UNESCO.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to urgently deploy technology applications such as digital tourism maps, smart interactive stations and online tourism promotion platforms; the goal is that by 2030, 90% of tourism services in central wards will meet "smart tourism" standards.
