Le Thien Phuoc, a 7th grade student from Thai Tri Primary and Secondary School (Khanh Hung commune, Tay Ninh province), faces extremely difficult circumstances. His mother suffered a stroke and is bedridden, relying on relatives for all daily activities. His family is classified as a poor household, making life difficult, and there were times when his education seemed on the verge of being interrupted. Understanding his situation, the Long Khot Border Guard Post promptly provided financial assistance, helping him continue his education and nurture his dreams and faith in life.

Officers from the Long Khot Border Guard Station present scholarships to underprivileged students in Tuyen Binh commune (Tay Ninh province).

Nguyen Hai Dang, a student in class 5/3 at Thai Binh Trung Primary School (Tuyen Binh commune, Tay Ninh province), is also one of the families receiving special attention. Dang's mother is seriously ill and requires dialysis, and his father works as a laborer without a stable job. His family's life is extremely difficult. Knowing this, officers and soldiers of the Long Khot Border Guard Post, along with charitable organizations, have joined hands to provide material support and encouragement so that Dang can continue his studies. He emotionally shared: "I am grateful to the border guards for always being by my side. I promise to be well-behaved and study hard so as not to disappoint everyone."

Entering the 2025-2026 school year, Long Khot Border Guard Station will continue to sponsor six disadvantaged students, including two from Tuyen Binh commune, two from Khanh Hung commune, and two from border communes in Cambodia. Significantly, these scholarships, awarded across the border, not only support the students' education but also foster solidarity and friendship between the people of both sides, ensuring that the border region always resounds with the laughter of children.

Along with regular support from the unit, the Long Khot Border Guard Station also actively mobilizes organizations, individuals, and businesses to participate in the program. In the 2025-2026 school year, Ms. Duong Thi Thuy, Director of Tan Thai Thinh Investment, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company (Tay Ninh province), sponsored six students with particularly difficult circumstances in Tuyen Binh commune, providing 6 million VND per student per year. Although the amount is not large, it helps the children have books, clothes, and the motivation to continue attending school and nurture their aspirations. Thanks to this support, many children who were once at risk of dropping out of school have now returned to class and are pursuing their dreams.

Evaluating the program's effectiveness, Mr. Vo Hong Linh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Binh commune, said: “The activities implemented by the Long Khot Border Guard Station have brought practical results, helping many poor students have the opportunity to continue their studies. This is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for disadvantaged families. The local government highly appreciates the sense of responsibility and dedication of the Border Guard soldiers and the compassion of benefactors. We hope the program will be expanded so that many other poor students have the opportunity to go to school.”

For nearly 10 years, the Long Khot Border Guard Station has sponsored and assisted dozens of poor students in the area. Many of them have now grown up, pursued higher education, and become shining examples for their peers to follow. Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Long, Political Officer of the Long Khot Border Guard Station, shared: “Each student we sponsor is a joy and a responsibility we are committed to for the long term. These children are like our own, needing love and protection to grow up.”

These simple yet meaningful actions of the officers and soldiers of Long Khot Border Guard Post not only contribute to supporting poor students in the border area but also spread the spirit of compassion and responsibility of the soldiers in green uniforms, so that love will forever blossom on the border of the Fatherland.
