The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has been tasked with urgently completing the appraisal of the basic design of the fuel pipeline and other works under component project 4 to ensure early implementation of construction and simultaneous completion and operation by June.
Government leaders instructed the Vietnam Airports Corporation to regularly inspect and review the construction progress, and to adjust and update the progress weekly for each item and package under component project 3.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the unit to direct contractors to increase manpower and equipment, proactively gather supplies, materials, and financial resources, organize construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams, and work even on weekends and holidays to complete the project according to the committed schedule, especially for packages with large remaining work volumes and at risk of delays, such as package 4.8 (Internal port traffic and technical infrastructure) and 5.10 (Passenger terminal).
Ministries, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies are also tasked with mobilizing resources to implement specific tasks to accelerate the project's progress and ensure its effective operation.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the request of General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh regarding the study and investment in the construction of Long Thanh International Airport to become a regional air transit hub, along with a modern and synchronized aviation and non-aviation service ecosystem, aiming to form "Long Thanh Airport City".
According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation, the consortium of contractors is currently mobilizing nearly 15,000 experts, engineers, and workers, along with more than 3,000 pieces of equipment and machinery, deploying hundreds of construction teams on the site.
Specifically, the Long Thanh International Airport Police Station construction project has a total investment of over 43 billion VND, commenced on December 25, 2024, with a construction period of 360 days. To date, the construction and equipment procurement package has been completed.
Regarding the fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the source port to Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai province has approved the project information and also approved the selected investor in special circumstances.
The drainage project for the area outside Long Thanh Airport (phase 1) has also been allocated additional central government budget funds in 2025 by the Prime Minister. The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has approved the investment policy for two component projects.
Currently, the drainage project is undergoing feasibility study review; the compensation and resettlement project is in the process of selecting contractors to develop compensation plans.
