From June 30 to July 3, 2025, in Ta Phin commune, Lao Cai province, there was heavy rain, causing landslides on a number of roads in the commune, especially positive slope landslides, causing damage at the section Km12+600-Km12+900, Provincial Road 155 (BOT toll station area Lao Cai-Sa Pa).
The landslide damaged traffic infrastructure and structures within the Lao Cai-Sa Pa BOT toll station and National Highway 4D, posing a direct threat to the safety of people and vehicles participating in road traffic.
To respond to and overcome the consequences and limit the damage, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province requests that agencies, units and project enterprises, according to their assigned functions, tasks and obligations under the project contract, carry out disaster recovery activities according to regulations.
Continue to closely monitor the cracks on the positive slope, especially the risk of landslides burying and destroying the structure of the toll station area and National Highway 4D; proactively monitor the weather situation closely, direct the arrangement of guards, regularly monitor and assess the actual situation and the risk of landslides, especially during storms and rains, to promptly divert traffic, resolutely close the road, and temporarily suspend operations when necessary to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
The Department of Construction, Lao Cai-Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company and related agencies and units shall, according to their scope and responsibilities, implement disaster recovery activities. These include reviewing and determining the specific extent of damage to road works caused by natural disasters, repair and remediation solutions, and implementing the next steps to ensure compliance with current legal regulations, ensuring effectiveness and absolutely preventing loss, waste, and negativity.
Ta Phin Commune People's Committee directed relevant agencies and units to organize propaganda and mobilize people to create favorable conditions for units during the construction process.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue urges and directs agencies and units to overcome the consequences of natural disasters on road traffic infrastructure.
