Officers of Tram Tau Agricultural Support Service Station coordinated with Phinh Ho commune to destroy infected pigs.

According to the authorities, in August, African swine fever occurred in nearly 1,500 households in 37 communes and wards; the number of pigs destroyed was more than 9,600, equivalent to nearly 550 tons.

Currently, specialized agencies are continuing to monitor weather developments, actively implementing disease prevention and control measures as well as quarantine and transportation of animals and animal products, minimizing the risk of widespread disease. Lao Cai province has simultaneously activated a series of prevention measures, implemented zoning, source control, and periodic disinfection to prevent widespread disease outbreaks.

For households that have not been affected, the agricultural sector recommends proactively implementing measures such as: regular cleaning and disinfection of barns; strictly controlling people and vehicles entering and exiting; and daily monitoring of pig health to detect early signs of abnormalities.
