Boat capsizes, killing one person

At around 9:20 a.m. on May 28, 3 people including Mr. PHT, Mr. L.QH and Ms. NTG (all residing in Phu Loc district, Hue city) rowed a boat carrying trees across Hai Binh lagoon from Vinh Hien commune (Phu Loc district) to Loc Binh commune.

On the way back, when they reached the middle of the lagoon, the boat suddenly capsized, causing all three people to fall into deep water. In the emergency situation, Mr. H. was able to save Ms. G. Only Mr. PHT sank with the boat.

At about 11:20 a.m. the same day, PHT's body was found by authorities and brought ashore.

Local authorities are currently coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the accident and support the victim's family with funeral arrangements.

* At around 9:00 a.m. the same day, in the area of Phap Hai Pagoda Wharf (Group 13, Vy Da Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City), people discovered a male corpse drifting ashore.

Vy Da Ward People's Committee in coordination with the Ward Police have drawn up a report on the identification of the victim of a drowning accident. However, the local authorities have not yet been able to verify the victim's identity to contact his relatives.

Currently, the People's Committee of Vy Da Ward has issued a notice to anyone who is a relative of the victim or knows related information to contact the unit or Vy Da Ward Police to complete the procedures to hand over the victim's body.
