At 7:00 a.m. on August 18, the bodies of Nong Thi Huyen (41 years old) and Tran Van Quan (43 years old), both residing in Quang Ha commune, were found.
At the same time, the storm also caused an accident for 5 aquaculture farmers in Hon My area, Quang Ha commune. By 7:15 p.m. the same day, all 5 people were brought safely to shore.
This morning, the tropical depression entered the Gulf of Tonkin, forecast to directly affect Quang Ninh - Lang Son with maximum winds of 49 km/h, causing rain in the Northeast and North Central regions. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m., the tropical depression reached winds of 61 km/h (level 6-7), gusting to level 9, located 135 km southeast of Bach Long Vi special zone, moving west at a speed of 15 km/h.
At 7:00 a.m. on August 19, the low pressure maintained level 6, gusting to level 8, entering the Quang Ninh - Lang Son area, then turning northwest, entering the Vietnam - China border and weakening into a low pressure area.
