(Baothanhhoa.vn) - With the motto "Taking the interests of the people as the goal of my own striving and dedication," throughout his 12 years as Party branch secretary and head of Giang Son 10 village, Ha Son commune (Ha Trung district), Mr. Le Thanh Nhan has always devoted himself wholeheartedly to serving the people.

Like many young men in the rural area of ​​Ha Son, in 1997, young Le Thanh Nhan enlisted in the army. Having completed his sacred duty to the Fatherland, in 1999 he was discharged and returned to his hometown to assume the role of secretary of the Youth Union branch in Giang Son 10 village. After more than 9 years of dedication to the local Youth Union movement, in 2008 he was assigned the position of police officer in Ha Son commune. Upholding the tradition and worthy of being called a soldier of Uncle Ho, he not only successfully completed his assigned tasks but also actively and enthusiastically participated in the emulation movements launched by the locality. His enthusiasm for the common good of the commune and village earned him the trust and high regard of the Party committee, government, officials, Party members, and the local people. Therefore, in 2013 – at the young age of 34 – he was elected secretary by the Party members of Giang Son 10 village branch and elected head of the village by the people.

With the motto: "For the development of our homeland and with the interests of the people as the goal of our personal endeavors and contributions," in his capacity as Party branch secretary and village head, he always upheld the spirit of pioneering and exemplary conduct in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, as well as his assigned responsibilities and duties. At the same time, he consistently maintained close ties with the people and directly propagated and mobilized them to actively participate in emulation movements in labor and production, economic development, and contributing to the construction of new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Giang Son 10 village has 116 households with 495 inhabitants. In 2022, the village officials and people embarked on building a model new rural village. To achieve this ambitious goal, he and the Party branch held meetings and unanimously agreed to issue a thematic resolution on "Building a Model New Rural Village" and developed a program and plan to implement the criteria for a model new rural village. In addition, the Party branch coordinated with the village committee to organize conferences to publicly announce the policy and plan for building a model new rural village to all levels of the people, encouraging them to participate in discussions and propose immediate actions.

Recognizing this as his responsibility to the Party, the commune government, and the Party branch and people of Giang Son 10 village, he, along with the village's Front Committee and political organizations, intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage all residents to actively participate in socio-economic development programs, maintain national defense and security, and participate in labor and production emulation movements, contributing to the construction of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas in the locality. The focus was on mobilizing the people to work together and respond to the movement of donating land for rural road construction according to Resolution No. 13 dated February 2, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the Ha Trung District Party Committee; and the movement to build bright, green, clean, and beautiful residential areas launched by the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the commune.

Through propaganda and mobilization, cadres, Party members, and the people in the village unanimously and voluntarily contributed over 1.3 billion VND to build and develop rural infrastructure. At the same time, they jointly planted over 3,000 string of pearls plants as green hedges along the village's internal roads; installed 36 high-voltage streetlights along a 2.5km stretch; constructed 1.5km of new covered drainage ditches in residential areas; renovated the cultural center grounds; and purchased sports equipment for the people. Thanks to the unity of "Party will and people's aspirations," at the end of 2022, Giang Son 10 village was recognized as a model new rural village.

Alongside the development of rural infrastructure, he, together with the village leadership team, strengthened leadership and mobilized the people to actively transform the structure of crops and livestock, linking it with the exploitation of land potential to build farm and household economic models with high economic efficiency. Accordingly, the people in the village have converted more than 10 hectares of low-yield rice land to growing flowers, ornamental plants, peach blossoms for Tet (Lunar New Year), and fruit trees, yielding an income of 200 to 350 million VND/hectare/year. In addition, he also coordinated with the commune's farmers' association to support households in building 7 integrated farms and 10 household gardens. Among them, the garden of Mr. Le Van De growing peach blossoms for Tet brings in an income of about 200 million VND/year; the garden of Mr. Tran Van Luong growing red banana trees brings in an income of over 150 million VND/year. With efficient production, the average per capita income of the village has increased to 60 million VND/year and there are no longer any poor households.

Through his practical actions that benefit the people and his homeland, Mr. Le Thanh Nhan is not only a shining example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, but also a positive force in the model new rural development movement of Ha Son commune.
