On the morning of February 22nd (the 13th day of the first lunar month), the Nộn Khê Village Festival of the Year of the Dragon 2024 took place at the Nộn Khê village communal house in Yên Từ commune, Yên Mô district. This traditional festival, held in the spirit of "drinking water, remembering the source," signifies gratitude and remembrance of ancestors.
The village of Non Khe was formerly a barren, saline, alluvial plain overgrown with reeds. During the first year of the Hong Duc era (1470), following the land reclamation plan, the village of Coi Khe was formed, laying the foundation for the present-day Non Khe village. Over 554 years, through many historical ups and downs, and with the efforts of generations of villagers, Non Khe village has undergone many changes, becoming more prosperous and well-developed.

On the day of the festival's opening ceremony, local people gathered at the village temple to offer incense in remembrance of their ancestors who had contributed to the founding and development of the village, and to pay respects to the heroic martyrs who were sons and daughters of the village and bravely sacrificed their lives in the long wars to protect their homeland and country.

Attending the festival, locals and tourists can immerse themselves in the unique and meaningful ceremonial and festive activities: the ceremonial part includes traditional processions, sacrificial rituals, and incense offerings; the festive part features vibrant and meaningful cultural and artistic activities: poetry recitations, "Homeland Songs" evening events; folk games such as processions, dragon dances, lion dances, wrestling, card games, etc., along with sports activities: football, volleyball, badminton, chess, etc.

In addition, there are two night markets at the temple gate (on the evenings of the 12th and 13th of the first lunar month), attracting thousands of people from neighboring localities to meet, socialize, and enjoy local cuisine such as rice cakes and steamed rice dumplings.
The Báo Bản Làng Nộn Khê festival is a unique cultural event, providing an opportunity for local people to commemorate their ancestors who founded the village, educate the people, especially the younger generation, about historical traditions, and promote the beauty of traditional culture.
