Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival

The Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival is a traditional festival of the Khmer people in the Bay Nui region of An Giang province, usually taking place during the Sene Dolta festival (ancestor worship festival) around the end of August or beginning of September of the lunar calendar each year. This festival demonstrates the spirit of unity, hard work, and the aspiration for a bountiful harvest, while also attracting a large number of tourists to watch and cheer.

The bull racing festival at Chua Ro Pagoda is a unique cultural feature of the Khmer ethnic people in An Giang. The bull racing festival has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage. It is one of the prominent cultural and sporting events of An Giang Province.
