Creative Design Festival 2024

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a plan for organizing activities to support Hanoi's participation in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2024-2025.

The aim is to organize activities that promote the potential and strengths of the Capital city in the field of creative design; to raise awareness among businesses and the community about the design and creative industries, contributing to the socio -economic development of the Capital city; and to connect and expand business cooperation between organizations, experts, and domestic and international businesses in the field of design and creative industries.

A highlight of this series of activities is the organization of the 2024 Creative Design Festival, scheduled to take place from November 9-17, with the theme "Creative Crossroads," chaired by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports . The organizing committee will implement creative activities in cultural heritage spaces and traditional craft villages in districts, towns, and cities.

The main area of ​​the festival is a creative experience route centered around the August Revolution Square (the traffic island in front of the Grand Theatre) with two North-South axes (Ly Thai To Street - Le Thanh Tong Street) and East-West axes (Bac Co Slope - Trang Tien Street) encompassing architectural works such as: Hanoi Children's Palace, National Historical Museum, Northern Vietnam Government House, Grand Theatre, Hanoi University; flower gardens on Phan Chu Trinh and Ly Thuong Kiet streets and other creative synergy locations.

During the festival, locals and tourists will have the opportunity to experience creative spaces in the outdoor area of ​​the Hanoi Children's Palace, the outdoor area of ​​the National History Museum, flower gardens, and several locations along the festival route.

The festival will feature numerous outdoor art exhibitions and installations, including: an exhibition of Children's Palace memorabilia; an exhibition themed "Educational Heritage"; an exhibition and presentation of creative works at the Children's Palace; exhibitions, installations, and displays in the fields of fine arts, photography, fashion, painting, etc.; an exhibition of creative products by young designers; and an exhibition of a simulated future museum.

In addition, the festival also features performing arts programs such as: traditional art performances, introductions to intangible cultural heritage; introductions to the fields of film, theater, and circus; fashion shows by young, creative designers; performances by young dance troupes, etc. Along with that, there are international workshops and seminars in the fields of creativity, promoting creativity, and seminars in the fields of art, publishing, fine arts, and architecture…

The program includes cultural tours, heritage experiences, and explorations of Hanoi's beautiful architecture; parades and presentations of creative ideas in various fields along the streets… In addition, the creative design week also features community sports activities; and the introduction of traditional cuisine in creative spaces…

In addition to the Creative Design Festival, Hanoi will establish a Council of Experts to advise on the implementation of activities to build Hanoi into a Creative City; promote international cooperation between Hanoi and member cities in the Network; participate in conferences and forums of the Global Network in the Asia and Southeast Asia regions according to UNESCO programs; and form a Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center and creative spaces in Hanoi.../.
