Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024: Will be an explosive event, increasing the tourist attraction of Agarwood land

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan to organize Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 and Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 - Ever Glamour Nha Trang 2024 at April 2 Square (Nha Trang City) this summer. These are major events to promote tourism in the land of Agarwood, stimulate tourism, and contribute to positioning the tourism brand of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

The "nail" event of the summer tourist season

Regarding these two events, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism (the unit in charge of implementing the two events) said: In 2023, with a series of events organized, the province's tourism has recovered and grown very well (welcoming more than 7.2 million overnight guests; tourism revenue of nearly 32,000 billion VND). To continue the growth momentum, towards sustainable development, the Department of Tourism has advised the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to organize the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 with the theme "Nha Trang Pearl Bay Shines Bright", taking place from June 13 to 16 and the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 with the theme "Glorious Galaxy", taking place from June 29 to July 20. These two festivals will form a series of exciting and colorful events, meeting the entertainment needs of tourists and people of Khanh Hoa during the peak summer tourism season of 2024. In the long term, we want to organize these events every two years (alternating with the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival) to contribute to promoting the image and tourism brand of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, making Khanh Hoa a center of sea tourism, a smart city with a unique identity on par with the Asian region in accordance with Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

- Can you tell us more about the main activities of these two events?

- Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 has the participation of tourism promotion agencies of countries, some provinces and cities of countries that have sister relations with Khanh Hoa province; Vietnam Tourism Association; Tourism Association and Culinary Association of provinces and cities in the country and internationally; tourism businesses inside and outside the province... All join hands to create a series of unique cultural, tourism and culinary activities to attract tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa; opening up opportunities for localities, domestic and foreign businesses to meet, exchange and expand business cooperation relationships.

Accordingly, the festival will have about 100 tourism booths (80 pre-built standard booths with an area of ^9m2 /booth, 20 booths with an area of ^36m2 to ^72m2 for businesses to build themselves) for businesses and localities to introduce tourism products, services, and domestic and foreign tourism stimulus programs. Within the framework of the festival, there will also be a culinary festival with 100 booths (70 standard booths with an area of ^9m2 /booth and 30 booths with an area of ^36m2 /booth for participating units and artists) to introduce delicious dishes of Vietnamese cuisine, international cuisine, and street-style cuisine. In addition, the festival also has 40 booths of fruit products and OCOP products; events such as: Beer Festival, Coffee Festival, Mineral Mud Festival, Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest Festival, game shows, etc.

After the 2-week sea tourism festival is the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024. This idea was formed after the artistic light show with 1,653 drones at the opening ceremony of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023 had a very good spreading effect. But to be more attractive, this time not only the artistic light show but also the competition to motivate the participating teams, extending the event time to nearly 1 month, with 4 competition nights taking place on Saturday nights. In addition to the host team Vietnam, we have worked with partners to invite 3 more international teams from India, Korea, and China to participate. Each competition night will have 2 teams competing directly according to each separate theme. Specifically: The opening ceremony and the first competition night (evening of June 29) have the theme "Hello Vietnam - Hello Vietnam"; The second competition night (July 6) has the theme "Glorious Ocean"; the third competition night (July 13) has the theme "Stories of Heritage Land"; the closing night (July 20) has the theme "Glamour Nha Trang" and awards ceremony. Each performance will last 90 minutes, in which each team will perform for about 15 - 20 minutes/night (minimum number of 1,000 drones/team), the rest will be music performances with the participation of star singers.

Contribute to positioning the tourism brand of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa

- Where will the funding for organizing the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival 2024 come from, madam?

- To organize the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival 2024, a huge amount of funding will be needed to pay for the performance teams, logistics, security and order, etc. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee's policy is to use socialized funding and part of the provincial budget (if necessary). These activities contribute greatly to attracting tourists to Khanh Hoa, so service and tourism businesses will benefit greatly from the events. Therefore, we hope to receive support from strategic investors, businesses in the province, especially service and tourism businesses, to successfully organize the above two events.

The artistic light show by drone at the opening ceremony of Nha Trang Sea Festival 2023 created a huge effect, contributing to promoting the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism.

- As the host unit, what has the Department of Tourism done and will do to effectively promote the above events in promoting the image and positioning of Khanh Hoa tourism brand?

- As the host unit of the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival 2024, the Department of Tourism has sent a plan to organize 2 events to businesses in the province; Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture - Sports and Tourism, Tourism Associations of provinces and cities across the country request support to introduce to businesses and tourists of the localities. In the near future, we will send an invitation letter to the Department of Tourism, Tourism Associations of provinces and cities and tourism businesses across the country to participate in the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024...

For the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024, the Department of Tourism is coordinating with a consulting unit to design the stage to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. It is expected that in addition to the guest area, there will be an area selling tickets for tourists. Therefore, after having the stage design, we will send information to travel businesses to sell to domestic and international tourists so that businesses can organize a Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tour combined with watching the drone light show.

Regarding press communication, the Department of Tourism has sent information about the above two events to central and local press agencies. Currently, together with Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Radio and Television Station, central press agencies and many provinces and cities across the country have introduced these two events. It is expected that in the near future, the Provincial People's Committee will organize a press conference to introduce the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024...

With careful preparation in terms of organization and communication, we believe that the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 will attract a large number of tourists to Khanh Hoa in the summer of 2024, contributing to accelerating tourism recovery and socio-economic development of the province. In particular, we expect the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 to be an explosive event, the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism will be spread to the international market, contributing to positioning the Khanh Hoa tourism brand. In the long term, we aim to build the international light festival into a unique tourism product of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, combined with destination communication work, creating an impression on global tourists.
