Buon Ma Thuot City Police ( Dak Lak ) has just arrested a subject who fraudulently sold vegetables and tubers on Zalo and then took nearly 100 million VND from a small trader at Tan Hoa wholesale market.

On December 30, Buon Ma Thuot City Police announced that they had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Pham Quang Tuan (37 years old, residing in Thach Khoi ward, Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province) for 3 months to investigate the act of fraudulently selling agricultural products on Zalo, appropriating nearly 100 million VND.

According to initial investigation results, Pham Quang Tuan worked as a porter for vegetable and fruit traders in Gia Loc district (Hai Duong province).

On September 10, through social relationships, Tuan knew that Ms. H. (41 years old) who sells vegetables and tubers at Tan Hoa wholesale market (Buon Ma Thuot city) needed to buy vegetables and tubers in large quantities, so he came up with the idea of defrauding and appropriating property.

To create trust, Tuan used his phone number to create an account on Zalo application with the name "Nong San Lao Cai ".

When Ms. H. contacted Tuan to say she needed to buy half a container of lettuce, cauliflower, and carrots, Tuan agreed and said these items were available in Lao Cai province.

To create more trust, Tuan uploaded pictures of vegetables online and sent them to Ms. H. Then Tuan offered to sell half of the container truck for 128 million VND and asked Ms. H. to deposit 88 million VND.

After receiving the deposit, Tuan immediately deleted the Zalo account "Nong San Lao Cai", blocked Ms. H.'s phone number and used the money for personal expenses.
