Holiday schedule September 2, 2025 for employees is implemented according to Notice No. 6150 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (old).

According to Notice No. 6150, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations (civil servants, public employees) will have a holiday on the occasion of National Day 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This holiday lasts 4 days, including 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly days off.
Agencies and units implementing the holiday schedule according to the notice shall arrange and organize the departments on duty according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the People, in which it is noted to assign officers and civil servants on duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during the holiday according to regulations.
The announcement of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also noted that for agencies and units that do not implement a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week, they will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable schedule of holidays, in accordance with the provisions of law.
For employees who are not subject to the provisions as stated above in the Notice, the employer decides to choose the option of taking the National Day holiday on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and choose 1 of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025 or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs encourages employers to apply the 2025 National Day holiday schedule for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees, and requires agencies and organizations to notify employees of the 2025 National Day holiday plan at least 30 days before implementation.
What workers need to know
According to the provisions of Point a, Clause 2, Article 107 of the 2019 Labor Code and Clause 1, Article 59 of Decree 145/2020, enterprises wishing to use employees to work overtime on National Day must have the consent of the employees (except for some cases where the company is allowed to mobilize employees to work overtime without the consent of the employees as prescribed in Article 108 of the 2019 Labor Code).
If the employee agrees to work during the holiday, the salary will be according to the provisions of Article 98 of the 2019 Labor Code. Specifically:
In case of overtime work on National Day during the day: Paid at least 300% excluding holiday pay for employees receiving daily wages (total of 400%).
In case of overtime work on National Day at night: You will be paid at least equal to the daytime overtime wage + additional wage for working at night + additional wage for working overtime at night on a holiday. In which:
Night work is paid at least 30% more than the salary calculated according to the unit price of salary or actual salary paid for the work of a normal working day.
In case of overtime work at night, employees are also paid an additional 20% of their salary calculated according to the unit price of salary or salary according to the work done during the day of the holiday.
Overtime pay of employees is exempt from personal income tax.
On the occasion of September 2nd holiday, is the agency required to reward employees?
According to Article 104 of the 2019 Labor Code, bonuses in general and bonuses for employees on National Day are not mandatory but are decided by employers based on the business results of the unit, enterprise, labor management agency and the level of work completion of employees.
In case the labor management unit clearly stipulates the conditions, bonus regulations or has specific terms in the contract for the employee, the employee can review and compare.
In case the employee has satisfied the bonus conditions, the company must reward in accordance with the bonus regulations or the terms signed in the labor contract.
