On August 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province held a press conference to inform about the plan to organize the "Quintessence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival in 2025, taking place from August 29 to September 2, 2025 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon ward) with the theme "Aspiration for the Blue Sea - Shining Great Forest", celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the event of the unification of Binh Dinh province (old) and Gia Lai province (old) on July 1, 2025.
In the series of events, the opening art program with the message " Promoting the strength of solidarity - maintaining identity - moving forward to the future " will be staged combining the characteristics of the two East - West regions of Gia Lai province with the content of historical traditions, cultural identity, potential strengths for economic development, historical relics, tourist landscapes, products of the basalt land and sea.
The highlight of the opening program is the brilliant low-altitude fireworks display in the sky of Quy Nhon coastal city; the light festival and drone art performance and the appearance of famous art troupes and artists participating promise to bring a vibrant visual feast for young people with the theme " Great Forest - Blue Sea Reaching Out to Shine ".
One of the highlights of the festival is the program introducing the art of ocean tuna cuisine, in which the organizers will serve visitors 5,000 free tastings, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from August 29 to September 1 at Children's Park, An Duong Vuong Street.
Through the hands of talented chefs from Ho Chi Minh City, Australia, Thailand, Japan and the Gia Lai Province Culinary Culture Association, ocean tuna will be filleted and processed into creative, nutritious and unique dishes with European, Asian and Vietnamese flavors.
Along with the program introducing the art of ocean tuna cuisine is the Food Festival “ Delicious dishes from Bazan land and the sea ”, displaying OCOP products, craft villages and the coffee and gong culture festival of Gia Lai province. The event gathered nearly 94 booths and 33 units, with the participation of restaurants inside and outside the province.
Throughout the "Essence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province organized many other activities such as: street festivals, traditional art forms of hát bội, bài chòi, martial arts performances, gong performances and traditional musical instruments.
According to Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai, the festival will contribute to honoring the productive labor of farmers and fishermen, promoting ocean tuna, coffee, OCOP products and craft villages. At the same time, spreading the beautiful image of the land and people of Gia Lai - Binh Dinh to domestic and international friends.
Miss Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa - Media Ambassador of the festival shared: " This year's festival is not only a cultural event, but also an emotional journey, taking visitors from the clear blue waters of Ky Co - Eo Gio, to the ancient Twin Towers, then immersing themselves in the majesty of K50 Waterfall in the Central Highlands. The festival will be where those stories are told through music, light and pride in the homeland ".
