Will history remember the name Truong Tuoi, Dong Nai?

If Trường Tươi Đồng Nai Club defeats Long An in Round 21 of the 2025-2026 First Division League, taking place at 4 PM today (May 30th, broadcast live on FPT Play) at Bình Phước Stadium, they will win the championship and secure promotion one round before the end of the season.

Currently, TTĐN is leading the table with 47 points after 20 matches, 5 points ahead of second-placed Bắc Ninh .

A new chapter in the history of Dong Nai football.

Neither Dong Nai nor the former Binh Phuoc football teams have ever had a representative win a professional football tournament in Vietnam.

Despite two consecutive seasons of aggressive investment in the First Division, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club (the predecessor of the current Truong Tuoi Dong Nai after the province merger) only managed to finish 3rd in 2023-2024 and runner-up in 2024-2025. This included a defeat in the play-off match for promotion to the V-League last season.

Meanwhile, Dong Nai FC, despite finishing only 3rd in the 2012 First Division, was granted a special promotion to the 2013 V-League to complete the 12-team competition. However, Dong Nai FC only played in Vietnam's top football league for three years before being relegated in 2015 and withdrawing from the 2016 First Division altogether.

Starting from the Third Division in 2017, Dong Nai FC subsequently earned promotion back to the First Division in 2023-2024. Returning to professional football, Dong Nai FC struggled to avoid relegation for two seasons before being transferred to Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC last year following the province's merger.

Under its new name, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai (TTDN), this season and with significant investment, just one more victory would secure TTĐN's first-ever First Division championship and promotion to the V-League.

Ready for the festival!

Standing on the brink of making history, TTĐN will undoubtedly do everything to win against Long An at home. Despite the absence of coach Nguyen Viet Thang due to accumulating three yellow cards and center-back Huu Tuan being suspended, TTĐN has shown no signs of weakening. Meanwhile, Long An FC has already secured their survival in the league with two matches to spare, achieving their goal set at the beginning of the season, and therefore has little motivation left to play.

In the crucial stage of the championship race, Cong Phuong was once again the most talked-about name in relation to TTĐN. Last season, Cong Phuong missed a penalty, indirectly causing TTĐN to lose 0-2 toSHB Da Nang in the promotion play-off. This season, despite missing almost the entire season due to injury, Cong Phuong immediately shone upon his return to the pitch with two spectacular goals in two consecutive matches.

The appeal of Cong Phuong will draw more spectators to the stadium on the day they witness their team lift the championship trophy. A victory would be even more meaningful for coach Nguyen Viet Thang, as this would be the second consecutive time he has led a First Division team to promotion, following his success with Ninh Binh FC last season.

Dong Nai has just become a centrally governed city, and winning the championship would be a meaningful gift that the Dong Nai Sports Center could give to its fans.

Low-altitude fireworks display to celebrate victory.

The Binh Phuoc Football Club had planned a rather grand celebration for their championship victory at home one round before the match. Accordingly, in addition to performances to thank the fans, the Binh Phuoc stadium would be illuminated with a low-altitude fireworks display.
