Foreign Language High School (University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University , Hanoi ) announced the enrollment of 500 students in grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year. Of which, 36 are for specialized students with scholarships, 364 are for specialized students and 100 are for non-specialized students.
Seven specialized blocks include: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean. Of which, the English block recruits the most students (315 students). Each block of Chinese, Japanese and French recruits 40 students, Korean 25 students, and Russian 15 students.
Candidates must meet the criteria of conduct and academic performance for the entire year of secondary school, and have a secondary school graduation grade of good or higher. The application will be released via the website and directly at the school in two phases, on May 5 and May 19 respectively. The exam fee is 450,000 VND.
Candidates will take the exam on the morning of June 3 and must participate in 3 subjects: Foreign language proficiency assessment; Math and Natural Science proficiency assessment; Literature and Social Science proficiency assessment.

In the Foreign Language Proficiency Test (coefficient 2), candidates choose one of the following languages: English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, or Korean. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test with 60 multiple-choice questions and one essay question.
Math and Natural Science Aptitude Assessment (coefficient 1) takes 55 minutes, multiple choice format.
Literature and Social Science Competency Assessment (coefficient 1) in 55 minutes, multiple choice and essay format.
According to the announcement, the school will consider admission from high to low until the quota is full, from the specialized system with scholarships, specialized system and non-specialized system. The admission score is the total score of three exams on a 10-point scale, foreign language multiplied by a factor of 2 and rounded to 2 decimal places. The exam results will be announced before June 30.
Next school year, candidates will take the entrance exam for grade 10 at the Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted in three subjects, including compulsory Math and Literature, which will take place in 90 minutes on the morning of June 1. In the afternoon, candidates will take the specialized subject exam, with a 120-minute test duration.
The admission score is the total score of three subjects, in which the specialized subject is multiplied by a coefficient of two. The University of Education High School for the Gifted does not add priority points to all candidates.
Regarding the quota, the two subjects of Math and English recruit 70 students; each subject of Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature recruits 35 students. The total quota this year is 315, of which 160 are scholarships. Compared to last year, the English specialized class has increased its quota slightly, from 60 to 70, the rest is similar to previous years.
To apply, candidates must have good conduct, academic performance, and high school graduation scores. If they win first prize in provincial competitions for excellent students, they will be considered for direct admission to specialized classes with corresponding subjects. The maximum number of students admitted directly is 10% of the total quota for each specialized class.
From March 13, the school will issue application documents, with a fee of 320,000 VND, accepting registrations for one month, from April 3 to May 5. Results will be announced on the school's website before July 31.
In the 2023 - 2024 school year, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted will enroll students in grade 10 for the 2023 - 2024 school year with 560 specialized students and 35 non-specialized students.
In particular, the specialized classes of Literature, History, Geography, Russian, Chinese, French, Information Technology, and Biology each enroll 35 students, the specialized classes of English, Math, Physics, and Chemistry each enroll 70 students.
The school has not yet announced the enrollment quota for grade 10 dual degree program.
Chu Van An High School also announced the enrollment quota for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year with 350 specialized students, 315 non-specialized students, and 50 dual-degree students. Compared to the 2022-2032 school year, the school maintains the enrollment quota.
Last year, the first round of admission scores to grade 10, Chu Van An High School had the highest score with 43.25 points.
The exam schedule of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Chu Van An High School is expected to take place in June 2023 according to the schedule of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
