On the afternoon of March 12, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor (HCMCFL) held a conference to announce and present decisions on the establishment and reorganization of affiliated units.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor Unions merged the Organization Department and the Inspection Department Office into the Organization and Inspection Department, with Mr. Truong Hong Son serving as the Permanent Deputy Head. At the same time, the unit also merged the Policy and Legal Affairs Department, the Propaganda Department, and the Women's Affairs Department into the Professional Affairs Department of the City Federation of Labor Unions.

While awaiting the appointment of deputy heads, the Standing Committee of the City Federation of Labor Unions assigned Ms. Le Thi Kim Thuy, Vice President, to be in charge of the Organization and Inspection Committee; Mr. Pham Chi Tam, Vice President, to be in charge of the Professional Affairs Committee; Mr. Phung Thai Quang, Vice President, to be in charge of Finance; and Ms. Le Thi Diem Ngan, Deputy Chief of Office, to be in charge of the Office.

The decision-making body established the Trade Union of Party Agencies (comprising 30 grassroots trade unions with approximately 6,901 members), chaired by Mr. Cao Van Thang; and the Trade Union of the People's Committee (113 grassroots trade unions with approximately 49,498 members), chaired by Mr. Luong Tuan Anh.

The trade union of the city's export processing zones and industrial parks remains unchanged.

The Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor Unions announced the dissolution of 12 grassroots-level trade unions effective April 15th, including the Civil Servants' Union, the Department of Transport's Union, the Department of Labor - Invalids & Social Affairs' Union, the Health Sector Union, the Education Union, the Textile and Garment Union, the Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports & Tourism's grassroots units, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's grassroots units, the Ministry of Health's grassroots units, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's grassroots units, the Central Commercial Enterprises' Union in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Union of Public Service and Trade Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Khac Thai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, emphasized that the establishment and reorganization of the committees received high consensus from the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor.

"The streamlining from seven to four committees aims to improve the efficiency of the city's trade union, strengthen care for union members and workers. I hope that the agencies will soon implement the work and complete the organizational structure in order to promptly carry out activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the Workers' Month in 2025, while further improving the care for the lives of workers," said the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor.
