Previously, at around 4:30 a.m. on August 14, while arguing with his wife, Ms. Tran Thi L. (born in 1974), M. used a knife to slash his wife, injuring her. Afterwards, Ms. L. was promptly taken to Bat Xat District General Hospital by her family for emergency treatment.

After committing the crime, the suspect took the weapon and escaped to the forest in groups 12, 13, 14 of Bat Xat town. Determined to quickly solve the case and stabilize social order, Bat Xat District Police and functional units (including military and security forces at the grassroots level in Bat Xat town) divided into 6 groups to block and search for the suspect. After more than 20 hours of the crime, the working group arrested M. while he was moving from the forest to his biological father's house.

Another incident, on July 16, in Group 20, Lao Cai Ward (Lao Cai City), occurred when Mr. MQT (born in 1980, working at an agency in Lao Cai City) chased and slashed his wife, Ms. VTQTr. (born in 1994, a teacher in Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province), due to a family conflict.

Recently, in Bac Ha district (Lao Cai province), on August 5, a husband in Na Kim village, Ta Chai commune (Bac Ha district) brutally assaulted his wife with a knife, leading to her death.

According to witnesses, the suspect, Bui Manh C. (born in 1994), came home from a trip and saw his wife, Nguyen Thi H. (born in 1997), cooking in the kitchen. The two got into an argument. Angry, Bui Manh C. used a knife to kill his wife (they had been married for just over a year). After committing the crime, the suspect was hunted down by the Bac Ha District Police and Lao Cai Provincial Police.
