Microsoft deploys fixes for many errors on Windows 11

The February 2025 Update (KB5051987 for Windows 11 24H2 and KB5051989 for 23H2) addresses the following notable issues.

  • Color rendering issue with Auto HDR: The Auto HDR feature, which is designed to improve in-game image quality, previously caused severe color distortion. This issue, along with related crashes, has been completely fixed.
  • Audio issues with DAC: Users using a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to output audio from their PCs were experiencing audio loss. The new update addresses this issue, while also eliminating the less common 'This device cannot start' error.
  • USB webcam recognition issue: The issue of USB webcam not being recognized, which appeared after the January 2025 update, has also been resolved.

This update is considered a positive move by Microsoft in improving the Windows 11 user experience, especially after version 24H2 encountered many error problems since its launch. Focusing on handling errors affecting gamers also shows that Microsoft is trying to attract this important user community.

However, Windows 11 24H2 still has some other errors. Users should consider carefully before deciding to upgrade to this version.
