Microsoft is rolling out fixes for numerous bugs in Windows 11.
The February 2025 update (KB5051987 for Windows 11 24H2 and KB5051989 for version 23H2) addressed the following notable issues.
- Color display issues with Auto HDR: The Auto HDR feature, designed to improve image quality in games, previously caused serious color inaccuracies. This issue, along with related game crashes, has been completely resolved.
- Audio issues with DACs: Users using digital-to-analog converters (DACs) to output audio from their PCs experienced a loss of sound. The new update has completely resolved this issue, while also eliminating the less common 'This device cannot start' error.
- USB webcam recognition error: The issue where USB webcams were not recognized, which appeared after the January 2025 update, has also been resolved.
This update is considered a positive move by Microsoft to improve the Windows 11 user experience, especially after the 24H2 version encountered numerous bugs since its launch. Focusing on fixing bugs affecting gamers also shows Microsoft's efforts to attract this important user community.
However, Windows 11 24H2 still has some other bugs. Users should carefully consider this before deciding to upgrade to this version.
