On the evening of August 18, at the City Theater, a large number of people, officers and soldiers of the City Police were moved to watch the opera "Oath on Cot Co Mountain" staged and performed by the Opera Troupe - Hai Phong Traditional Theater.

The program is part of a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2, the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.

Attending the performance were comrade Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Nguyen Quang Phuc, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee; Major General Bui Quang Binh, Director of the City Police Department; family members of Hero and Martyr Tran Thanh Ngo, together with leaders of departments, branches, units and more than 300 officers and soldiers of the city police.

The play faithfully and heroically recreated the fighting life of Hero and Martyr Tran Thanh Ngo - an outstanding son of Kien An. During the fierce days of the resistance war against French colonialism, on the Kien An front - where the headquarters of the Hai - Kien inter-province was located, the young commander boldly swore an oath: "If Tran Thanh Ngo is still alive, Kien An will be still alive. If Kien An is lost, Tran Thanh Ngo will be lost as well" .
That oath not only echoed in the trenches but was also engraved in the hearts of his comrades and the people. He fought steadfastly and heroically sacrificed himself right at the foot of Cot Co Mountain, writing an immortal epic about the revolutionary police soldier.
