Long An prepares to build over 3,000 billion VND approach roads for three bridges

On August 11, the Long An Department of Transport said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document directing the implementation of the project of access roads to three bridges across the river: Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay under the provincial road project 827E connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang .

In September 2025, construction of the access roads to three bridges across the river: Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong, Vam Co Tay under the provincial road project 827E will begin.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee directed the People's Committees of Can Giuoc, Can Duoc, Tan Tru, and Chau Thanh districts to complete the inventory and identification of households affected by the access road project to the three bridges by August 2024 at the latest.

At the same time, before September 30, 2024, the People's Committees of these districts must complete the procedures for approving investment policies for resettlement areas and submit them to competent authorities, and no later than October 10, 2024, competent authorities must approve investment policies for resettlement areas.

At the same time, the Long An Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to urgently complete investment procedures, send them to the Department of Planning and Investment for appraisal, and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the project to build the access road and site clearance by the end of November 2024 at the latest.

For the road construction project, Long An Department of Transport will complete all procedures and documents, and approve the construction drawing design and estimate by the end of June 2025 at the latest.

By July 2025, the construction contractor will be selected and construction will begin in September 2025.

The project was approved by the Long An Provincial People's Council with a resolution on investment policy, including two component projects: Construction of access roads to three bridges and site clearance for bridge construction, with a total investment of VND 3,040 billion from the provincial budget and other legally mobilized capital sources.

Previously, the Prime Minister decided to approve the project to build three bridges under the provincial road project 827E connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang.

Accordingly, Can Giuoc bridge across Can Giuoc river has a scale of 6 lanes with a length of 1,975m, the approach road to the bridge is about 2,260m long, the asphalt concrete road surface is more than 22m wide.

The Vam Co Dong bridge across the Vam Co Dong river is built with a scale of 6 lanes and a length of 1,356m; the Vam Co Tay bridge across the Vam Co Tay river has a scale of 6 lanes and a length of 1,412m.

Total investment is over 4,797 billion VND. Of which, Korean ODA loan is equivalent to 4,060 billion VND and counterpart capital is about 736 billion VND.

Regarding the financial mechanism, the Korean ODA loan source, the central budget allocates 90%, the province borrows 10%; the province balances 100% of the counterpart capital from the provincial budget. The three bridges are expected to start construction in 2026.
