Brigade 189 launches Month of Action for Children

On May 28th, the 189th Naval Brigade launched a campaign to respond to the Month of Action for Children and the National Month of Action on the Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence in 2026. Lieutenant Colonel Ha Van Ty, Deputy Political Commissar of the Brigade and Head of the Population, Family and Children Department of the Brigade, presided over the event.

Over the years, the work of family affairs, child protection, care, and education at Brigade 189 has always received close and timely attention, leadership, and guidance from superior agencies and local Party committees and authorities in provinces and cities. The Party committees and commanders of agencies and units within the brigade have implemented the military's welfare policies in a systematic and effective manner, especially for the children of military personnel facing difficult circumstances or suffering from serious illnesses, contributing to maintaining ideological stability so that officers and soldiers can focus on their work with peace of mind.

The 2026 Children's Action Month has the theme "Happy, Safe, and Steadfast Children in the Digital Age"; the 2026 National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control has the theme "Ending Violence, Cultivating Love"; taking place from June 1st to 30th. Accordingly, the Party committees and commanders of agencies and units within the brigade will continue to build upon the achievements already made, raising the awareness of officers and soldiers about caring for and protecting children, and preventing and combating domestic violence, demonstrating this through concrete actions with high feelings and responsibility. In addition, they will closely coordinate with local authorities and socio -political organizations in the areas where they are stationed to create the best conditions for military families in the unit to receive care, protection, and education; creating favorable conditions for building happy military families and providing an environment for children to have opportunities for comprehensive development. At the same time, we must strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness among officers and soldiers to strictly implement the Law on Children; the Law on Marriage and Family; and the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence.

On this occasion, the Population, Family and Children Committee of the Brigade presented 14 gifts worth a total of 7 million VND to the children of martyrs and children of military personnel who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies.

On the same day, the Brigade's Youth Union branch launched the 2026 summer volunteer youth campaign.
