According to the Civil Defense Committee of Kim Tan commune, due to prolonged heavy rain and water pouring in from upstream, the flood on the Buoi River rose abnormally, increasing the number of flooded houses and cutting off many traffic routes.
As of 1:00 p.m. on August 27, 1:00 p.m., the flood on the Buoi River reached 12.90m, 90cm above the third warning level and continuing to rise. 1,221 houses in 48 villages in Kim Tan commune were flooded. Local authorities have organized the emergency evacuation of 1,106 households whose houses were deeply submerged in floodwaters to safe places in the villages, such as: Tien Thanh 158 households, Dinh Tan 105 households, Dinh Tuong 143, Dinh Hung 262 households...

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hao, Chairman of Kim Tan Commune People's Committee, said that the commune has organized the distribution of food, foodstuffs, and drinking water to households whose houses were flooded in isolated villages. Mobilizing forces, means, materials, and equipment to immediately deploy dike protection plans at overflow points and vulnerable locations of the dikes, especially the Thach Dinh dike according to regulations; handling incidents that may occur from the first hour, ensuring flood safety of the dike, not allowing incidents to develop further. At the same time, continue to closely monitor the developments of rain and floods to promptly handle additional situations, ensuring safety for the project. The Commune Civil Defense Command is continuing to monitor weather developments and the flood situation of the Buoi River, ready to respond to all situations.
