Speaking to Giao Thong Newspaper about the progress of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan route construction project, a representative of Project Management Board 2 (the investor) said that survey and technical design work is currently underway and is expected to be submitted to the competent authority for appraisal and approval in October to November 2024.
According to the plan, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan project will start construction in 2024 and be completed in 2026 (Illustrative image).
Notably, following the recent historic floods, the investor requested the design consultant to monitor water levels and track flood developments on the Cau River. After reviewing the technical design and conducting on-site inspections, the parties agreed to make localized adjustments to some locations.
Specifically, approximately 800 meters of the road section at Km 1+400 (Thanh Binh Industrial Park, Thanh Thinh commune, Cho Moi district) will be shifted towards encroaching on the residential area to avoid erosion by the Cau River.
Approximately 1.5km at Km 4+500 (Thanh Thinh commune) will be shifted by about 10-60m from the original route to avoid affecting the existing stream flow.
Approximately 2km at Km 11+500 (Thanh Mai commune) has been adjusted, shifting the route by about 5-10m from the original line to avoid the rising water level of Quan stream.
"Based on the actual progress, it is expected that the issuance of tender documents for the construction project will be carried out in November 2024; the evaluation of contractor selection results and signing of construction contracts will be completed in December 2024."
According to the approved plan, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan route will be developed with a complete 4-lane road, a roadbed width of 22m, and a design speed of 80km/h. The total investment is over 5,750 billion VND.
Also in December 2024, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan project will be started after completing all the required procedures," a representative of Project Management Board 2 informed.
According to our investigation, to ensure the progress of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan road project, the Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee recently issued a notice summarizing the conclusions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Dang Binh, at a meeting to hear reports on difficulties and obstacles related to the land clearance sub-project of the project.
Accordingly, local leaders requested the investor to consider and study the plan to hand over markers, boundary lines, and land clearance boundaries... for each section of the route in September 2024 or early October 2024 so that the provincial units and localities can organize the implementation of land clearance work according to schedule.
The investor is also requested to coordinate with the departments and agencies of Bac Kan province to exchange information on the plan for using materials, locations for disposing of excess soil and rock, and other related issues during the project implementation.
"Regarding the demand for common construction materials (sand, stone), Project Management Board 2 proactively provides the required quantities on a time-based basis so that relevant departments can coordinate and guide enterprises exploiting resources in the area, ensuring sufficient supply for the project by maximizing the use of local materials and labor, contributing to reducing the total investment cost of the project," the announcement stated.
